Is the Baltimore Inner Harbor area safe and worth seeing?

I am forcing the wife (no pics) to do a little driving tour of eastern PA and vicinity next summer. Gonna hit a Phillies game and Orioles game, Gettysburg, Hershey, Lancaster.
I was looking at hotels near Camden Yards and adjacent to the Inner Harbor. Looks like it could be a nice place to walk around. I just don’t want to get shot.

Much like NOLA, stay right in the tourist area and you are generally OK. But the goblins do occasionally wander into those areas and people get caught in the crossfire. It’s that way in any urban area. Baltimore is no different.

The Inner Harbor largely sucks now. Lots of empty storefronts. Fells Point is way better.

Go down to Annapolis too. Tour the naval academy. John Paul Jones is buried in the crypt of their chapel.

Well crap. Was sort of hoping for a Led Zeppelin reunion. Not sure it will happen with just tow of the members still alive.

It's been some time back for me, but the best attraction I recollect from my visit to the inner harbor was the National Aquarium. Also the tall ship U.S. Constitution was interesting if you have never toured one of these type of sail only ships. My visit to the inner harbor sites was daytime only and felt safe.

Daytime is safe.
Go see Fort McHenry and enjoy the program at the Visitor's Center. Thank me later.

We preferred Fells Point and Clinton to be in at night.

Not really, to be honest. Fells Point was still okay last time I was there 6 years ago, but there isn't a whole lot to see in Inner Harbor. It should be fine to stay there, especially if there's an Orioles game but be mindful that you don't have to go far at all to find some truly bad areas

My SO and I went summer of '23. We stayed at the Hilton Inner Harbor which is just over the left field fence of Camden Yard. Spent the day in Fells Point and headed to the game early evening. No worries at all with any crazies and when the game is over after dark you're right next to your hotel.

Its very safe, but starts to get sketchy around 10pm

Yes, wife and I went there in April. Went to Ft. McHenry in the morning, had lunch in the Inner Harbor and went to a game at Camden Yards.
The Babe Ruth Museum is close the ballpark and worth a visit. Its small and quick.

Fells Point is the answer. Lived there for 4 years. You can take the water taxi to the game. Baltimore is much like NOLA. You can be in a great neighborhood...but a 3rd world country is just three blocks away.

No, it's not worth it. I live in the area and since I quit working, I never go into the city of Baltimore. The inner harbor has been gutted for the most part, full of empty store fronts and vacant buildings. The National Aquarium is, well, an aquarium and it's ok, but not something I'd do unless I had little kids. Fells point is a couple of streets of bars, restaurants and tourist shops. The only thing worth doing in that area is seeing Ft McHenry.
I'd skip Baltimore and go to Antietam.

Page, Plant and Jones are still among the living.
