My wife and I enjoyed the beach, some bars on the beach, a horseback ride on a mountain trail that ended at Playa Hermosa, a rented side by side up another mountain that ended where we drank coffee that was made on an old cast iron wood burning stove and just wandering around the town. I tried surf lessons but I found out quick that surfing isn’t for me.

Talked with my cousin who has been about 15 times to Costa Rica, all different parts. He said I would have the best time there. Everything is already booked so just seeing what are the best activities to do.

We thought the Puerto Viejo south of Limon, on the Caribbean, was the best singles spot. The bar at Salsa Brava was pretty epic.

Honestly, I have heard a lot of negative stuff about Jaco. Be warned about that area. As far as activities there are a ton things to do. Sky forest tour, sailing, fishing, white water rafting, just to name a few. They also have some incredible waterfalls in Costa Rica.

We stayed just south of Jaco in Playa Hermosa for a surf trip. There were plenty of waterfalls around that area and some pretty fun zip-lines also. Just google to get the names. We went in rainy season in October but we heard Jaco(pronounced HOCK-O) has some good shopping during the time you are going. Also if you are flying into San Jose try to get an early flight that lands before 2 pm. Traffic is a nightmare after 4 pm getting out of the city.
