Thanks for all your help in this thread.
Just so I am clear, and in summation:
- Flying to Cali; when I check into my flight on May 22, since there is an Intl destination in my itinerary, the check-in process on American Airlines app will require me to take photos of my passport and potentially myself
- When I get to CLT initially, I will just go through security as normal (may or may not have to present passport) and then get to my gate for my flight
- Gate attendant will check passport with boarding pass
- Delta app is telling me to do something with my passport but it seems a bit early?
- Return trip on May 27, I can just wait to do the MPC app when I land in ATL unless I can do it on the plane near the airport, but unsure since I may/may not have WiFi (certainly not paying for it)
I think there is some preliminary stuff I can go ahead and do in the MPC app though, correct?

Perhaps a dumb question, but maybe not..
My concern is on the second flight out that I will be boarding relatively late, so there may be a situation where there is no more overhead space for my carry-on luggage.
The bag would get checked for free, but wouldn't I have to go through customs/immigration in Colombia before being able to get to baggage claim? If that takes a long time... my bag is just spinning around the carousel for potentially a lengthy amount of time? I wouldn't have much confidence in this case that it wouldn't get stolen..

I never seen this mobile passport line. I only use IAH, DFW, or MSY

Yes, add the info of everyone traveling with you so they're pre-loaded (I think the picture I have in the app is from 2018?) The journey you will "check into" when you land requires almost no data at all, but it's only valid for approx 4 hours from when you create it, so you won't be able to do that process while you're still sitting in Cali.
For the other poster that flies through IAH and has never seen the MPC line, take a right just before you get to the general queue and the Global Entry kiosks, go close to the end of the entry area, and it'll be a "gate" or two near the end. Dependent upon how they have the retractable barriers configured that day, of course.
