Long term parking options at New Orleans airport

I couldn’t find any recent threads on this.
Flying out of New Orleans for 11 days. I’ve done some research. Looks like you have to stay at the Hilton to park there. Anyone used the airport economy garage? Says $12/ day. No mention of tax add-ons. Also could do US Park w a coupon. Any other ideas?

I usually reserve a spot in short term because it’s so convenient.
Economy is fine. Sometimes it might take a while for the bus to pick you up if it’s busy. But yes, pretty cheap. Parking is at the old airport and can be a 20-30 minute bus ride to and from airport.
Parked at Park N Fly once, but it was efficient and price was good. Bus runs regularly. It’s a quicker trip (5-10 minutes) than economy.

My first choice is always short term parking. Next would be long term.
frick parking offsite or the economy garage.
Reserve it ahead of time at the MSY website.

I've been using Park & Fly since new terminal opened. It's an easy in and out when coming in I-10. Shuttle to terminal is usually no-wait. Max wait from terminal has been 5 min... usually much shorter. Two weeks ago, I was surprised to find it almost full, with no covered left. I'll start reserving online from now on just in case.

The old terminal parking is atrocious. Bus ride takes forever. It leaves the property, rides around on normal streets and makes its way back to new terminal. Such a shitshow. How about a fricking road between the two inside the property.

Long term parking at MSY falls far behind short term or Economy. US Park would be 4th.
Short term
Economy
Long term
US Park
There's quite a few airlines now that you can check your luggage right at the economy lot, almost all of the parking is covered, shuttles run every 5 minutes and it's less than a 15 minute commute.

Thx for all the advice.

Long term's marginal less convenience than short term is sort of perfectly reflected in its marginal price difference.
I'm trying to figure out exactly what you see as the huge gap between the two.
They seem for all intents and purposes basically the same thing to me, with the only difference being a few extra steps associated with Long Term maybe.

The ability to check bags and $10/day.
Short term is the clear leader being connected to the terminal but Economy offers less of a walk than long term, it's $10/day cheaper and takes 20 min (TOPS) longer than long term but can frequently be offset by checking bags at the garage.
There is no way in the world long term is worth 83% more than economy to me. I don't think I would opt for long term if it was 50% more than economy.
I say this as someone who primarily travels with a family and pays for the parking himself. If and when I am a solo / business traveler, Long Term would be easier not having to deal with a shuttle but those who aren't paying for parking themselves are not usually the people asking for parking advice and or considering off-site parking options.

I don’t know jack about the economy deal. A 20 minute bus ride there and back (especially back) seems like sort of a deal killer to me.
I was simply comparing my experience with the short term vs long term and trying to figure out how you came to see such a disparity between the two. I still don’t really get it, but it’s okay I guess.

Just stay in short term. It’s not that much more. Short term was full last time I flew out and had to go to the offsite economy parking.
I remember saying it only saved me 75 bucks or so. Not worth the hassle.

I've used economy a bunch without issue until last time. I arrived back at MSY on a Sunday and watched four economy lot buses marked employee only pick up and drop off MSY employees before one arrived to pick up general passengers. Waited there a half hour.

Economy is always my choice. The buses have always been quick for me. There's even an app to track them. No extra BS fees. I can wait 5-10 minutes to save $75. They drop you off at the door almost too. Win win.

If you’re somewhat close, just Uber.

I’ve used the new terminal probably 35 times so far since it opened, haven’t yet reserved a spot in the short term parking area but have always just found a spot in it.
Almost always on the 4th Level so I could walk right into the terminal.

Looks like, for 11 days and a few hours trip, short term is $300. Economy is $140. I’ll try either economy or Park n Fly. Thanks for all the input.

I would do anything to avoid parking off site and taking a bus to and from the terminal.

I don't understand this. Why? It takes no time at all from the Economy garage. Park-n-fly, I get that. They're hit or miss and definitely not cheap, outside of a one time special, etc.
