Hoping to go catch an Astros game while I’m in Houston in early April. What are the thoughts on sitting in the outfield Crawford Boxes or BullPen Boxes. Or what are some of the better seats for what you pay

Crawford boxes are good. Its really all about your preference on your viewpoint and how much you feel like spending. You can Google "view from my seats" and put in minute maid for actual photos from almost every section. Also, I think you'd get better answers on the more sports board. Tons of Astros fans over there.

some of the worst sightlines of any mlb stadium I've been too
my preference is down right field line and even out in right field
forget anything upper deck wise even though you can get some really cheap tickets up there

Crawford boxes are cool. But you may not have much of a choice with capacity restrictions

Crawford boxes are lots of fun. Plan on doing a good bit of standing in that section as everyone is hoping to catch a ball. Anyone can go hang in that section during batting practice, although with COVID, rules may be different.

Lower level on the 1st base side is good. If you sit lower level on the 3rd base side, depending on the time of the game, you may be sitting in the sun, but it's super cool to sit behind the dugout. You can easily watch Julia sitting there keeping score and taking notes. It's pretty easy to get a pic with her as well. Pricing is better outside of 3rd base and from about row 23 or so. There are a couple of FB groups, Astros Ticket Marketplace - Buy and Sell and Houston Astros Ticket Exchange where season ticket holders sell spares, usually at better pricing than direct from the Astros.

Don't get upper deck unless you can't afford anything else, although the 200 level isn't bad. Part of it is restricted by tickets and therefore the food lines, etc can be shorter.

Ready for baseball season! Go Astros!!!

This is simply not true. It's a fricking modern day baseball stadium.

The "sightlines" are just like every other modern day baseball stadium -- and much better than most of the older stadiums still in use.

Now, you want to complain about food, beer, service, fans, players, garbage cans, announcers, parking, ticket prices, surrounding game day atmosphere at bars and hangouts before/after games -- fine, bitch away -- those are things that vary from ball park to ball park.

Modern day stadium sightlines? Nah, man. You're blowing smoke, but it won't get up my arse.

ETA: for OP, Crawford boxes are fun. I like sections 127 - 131, I can usually pick up 1st or 2nd row seats pretty easily in those sections. You can usually get lots of interaction with players before the game, and Reddick was a lot of fun in between innings. (most outfielders can be fun, if you have the right approach with them).

buy the cheapest seats in the house as stand behind the Crawford boxes, or on the left field wall or in center field and have a fun time.

If you are tall then the seats in the Crawford boxes are not fun as the rows are too close together. Sat there once ad I was miserable.

I've sat all over Minute Maid and I really enjoy the Crawford Boxes. It's pretty exciting knowing a ball can come by you at any moment. I've had several home runs land near me there

I've been going since 2002 (it would have been since 2000 if it weren't for me being in the Army and Kosovo), and it's my opinion that the Crawford Boxes are overrated. You don't really get a good view of the game, and you feel like you are really far from the action.

In my opinion, I think the best seats are in the Club Section, and more specifically, the left field side of the club section, sections 208-216 are the best seats in the park. There, you are right on top of the action. Also, you are not too far from the restrooms and food and beverages.
