Planning a trip to take the Natchez Trace Parkway from Natchez to Nashville, please give me some ideas of what to do and places to stay. Time is not a big factor, we can take as long or as little time for the trip as needed.

TIA

Leave your LEAD foot at home. Lots of radar enforcement
of the low speed limits.

I tried it on a long drive to Gatlinburg. It all starts looking the same rather quickly, so I hopped on I-20 in Jackson to save time. Once in Chattanooga, hopped back off the interstate and drove pretty mountain roads.

It's a lovely drive if you are up for a leisurely drive, but outside of staying somewhere in Natchez and somewhere in Nashville, it's hard to think of anywhere between the two that would be an appealing place to rest your head.

Maybe someone has a hidden gem or two along the way, of which I'm not aware.

It is more of a historic drive than a scenic drive (even though it is scenic). Personally I think it is absolutely work the drive, especially if you are not in a hurry and have time for the stops.

When are you going? Top Places This link has a list of the top places, but make sure you visit Tom's Wall at MP 338. Tom passed away a few years ago, but it is definitely worth visiting.

Little Big Store in Raymond MS is a fantastic record store. Well worth the stop if you are into that kind of thing.

Never done the entire Trace. We like to picnic and hike at Meriwether Lewis Park and Monument. Free campground BTW.

Nearby Metal Ford is a nice spot along the river to stop by as well.

There is an abandoned town at the Rocky Springs exit not far from Port Gibson. There is some decent hiking to creeks and waterfall right there too. Port Gibson itself has some cool houses and churches that survived the war.

As stated is a a good relaxed drive if you are not in a hurry and like to pull over to picnic and stop at markers and such.

One of my wife's siblings got married in the Church at Rocky Springs over 30 years ago.

Natchez is good and then it's a long way North before you get to anything remarkable.

Think like Tupelo.

Don't speed on it, the National Park Service patrol units will write tickets for you.
