A few questions.

What does "mid week night" mean? I get it; you'll be spending the night during the week, but exactly how much time are we talking? Just an evening? An entire day?

First time in that area?

Do you know if you'll be renting a car when you arrive? I assume so if you're going to Breckenridge, but just checking.

My suggestions will be based on the answers.

We started the tour out in Denver, Colorado
I made the first one but I did not make the second show
'Cause I met this girl there that brought about quite a big change
But I OD'd in Denver and I just can't remember her name

Flight lands at 4pm on a Wednesday. Need to be back at airport noon the following day to pick up everyone for the mountains

No car, Uber

The car rental begins the following day

Yes I’ve spent some time in Denver but not a lot

Cool. I realized I didn't ask how old you are, but based on your answers I would recommend Larimer Street in the Five Points/River Arts district. Lots of good restaurants and watering hole type places to choose from, including a few microbreweries and wine bars.

Be sure to check out the Denver Central Market. Really cool place with even more food/drink options.

There's some retail mixed in there as well. Not sure how late those will stay open though. Regardless, that will definitely keep you occupied for the evening.

As for hotel, you could save yourself a bit of money on Ubering if you stay in that area too (although I'm not sure what hotel rates will look like). It's right next to Union Station which has a light rail that goes back-and-forth from the airport for just a few bucks. You could take it both ways.

we have had a few one nighters in Denver over the years usually as a last stop of a trip before we fly home

the source hotel is a nice place in the arts district with plenty of food and beverage all around. If it’s your thing you can book a growhouse tour (if it is your thing it’s awesome). If the nuggets are in town you could go to an nba game.

Since you really only have an evening, would agree with others and stay in RiNo - just go to some breweries (i.e. Ratio, Great Divide), bars (i.e. Finn's Manor, Number Thirty Eight) and restaurants (i.e. Temaki, The Greenwich)

ETA: Alternatively, probably quite a few more cost-effective in the downtown area, and around Union Station + Ballpark. Immediate downtown is sort of shitty with homeless/drug addicts around, but they keep to themselves and it's a quick Lyft/Uber (5-10 minutes) to LoHi, RiNo, etc.

We really like the Maven hotel. It's connected to the Dairy Block, which has a food hall with good food and drinks, and there's an air stream in the lobby with free margaritas every evening. It's within walking distance to Union Station, and as someone else suggested, take the train from the airport to Union Station. Easy and cheap!

I always stay at the Renaissance Downtown Denver whenever I'm in town. Hotel is in the old Colorado National Bank building and has a great restaurant and bar.

Staff is also amazing and Matt, the bartender, is awesome

I will be there 2 nights in February for work then heading to Breck for the week.

Parts of Denver have become a homeless haven. We are staying in Cherry Creek. Lots of restaurants and shopping while still close enough to downtown.

Plan on hitting the science museum and an Avalanche game.

Are you driving back out to the airport or is your family ubering in town? The airport is a good ways from downtown so an uber into downtown and back is going to be pricey.

Yea I figured that but I’m not gonna sit in a hotel out at the airport and watch TV all night, it’s gonna cost a lil $$$ to get back and forth

Go eat here. Get reservations, even on the weekday. and don't let the picture fool you into thinking its a crappy place. It's expensive, and the food was great. Really awesome historical building.

Currently live in Denver and the suggestions are spot on.

Only other area I’d recommend to explore is LoHi or the Riverfront area by REI. Snag a beer at Denver beer co or the rooftop at Avanti for a good city view.

Mrs. H2O Tiger used to live along the river and that area has grown up a ton in the last couple of years. There's also a good ice cream shop a block back, near where the pedestrian bridge crosses the river but I can't remember the name.

Inside Scoop is maybe what you’re thinking of? If you’re thinking of Platte street. I too used to live right off Platte a few years ago.

Yep, that's the place. Used to run through LoHi and would go across that bridge over I-25 there every day
