Parking at the new MSY Airport

Can someone update me on the parking situation at the new terminal at MSY. Will be going to Tampa area for 5 days. Should I use the old Park n Fly or US Park or is their a better option at the new airport? Thanks in advance

Onsite garages are fine, but more expensive than US Park. Old Park n Fly is on Airline, and will add 10 minutes to your arrival/departure. US Park is closest & website has some coupons, if you're price sensitive.
I keep giving my money to the airport, as the long term garage is easy to navigate. (Although it already smells like urine---why do people pee in garages?)

Use short term. A little more expensive, but you are right there.

US Park will give you $5 for 5 days and then when you sign up for their rewards program give you a free week. After that it's too expensive for being off-site, though.

Long term in the garage isn't a far walk at all. I walked right out the terminal, crossed the pick up lanes, and into the garage. I think Short Term was $22 per day, and Long Term was $20 per day. Both are a covered walk the whole way, so no worries about rain.
Long term is #7 on this map.

How does car rental work (other than poorly, I presume)? Looks like a long way to get there. Is there a rental car shuttle?

Friend,
USPark has a $5/day rate for first time customers if you purchase online. They use your license plate to ensure that you are a first timer. I enjoy USPark and recommend them, even though you do rely on their transport van. Sometimes the van to pick you up at the terminal can take a while to arrive. That is my only complaint. The employees are always friendly and they will give you a free bottle of water if you ask for it at the ticket booth.
If you use the referral benefit, and one of us refers you, you get a $50 coupon and the person who gives the referral gets a $30 coupon. My account is under TulaneLSU.

I haven't rented at MSY.

How to get there:
You can connect to the MSY Rental Car Center using our MSY Rental Car Lot Shuttle. The rental car shuttle is available in front of the Long Term Parking Garage. Exit the terminal on Level 1 Baggage Claim and walk towards the Long Term Parking Garage adjacent to the terminal. Efficient, nonstop service is available to and from the rental car facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Shuttles typically depart every 5 minutes from the terminal to the rental car facility. The shuttle takes approximately 15-20 minutes to drive from the terminal to the rental car facility.
