Quickest way to get passport renewal

I can't believe I let this slip through the cracks but I did. Have trip on February 10th. I have already went online and scheduled an interview with the New Orleans passport office on Canal Street in Nola for 1-29. That was earliest they had available. It had two options, urgent meaning traveling in 2-3 weeks and life or death traveling in 3-4 days or less. I did urgent bc I am 2-3 weeks away right now. But it is a little less than 2 weeks from 1-29 appointment date to our travel date of 2-10. Anyone ever done this process and if so how long did it take?
Also, any other options or services to expedite it even further?

Its been a while for me, but on my in person visit to the Canal St. office they were able to renew my passport that day. I walked out with the new book in hand.

The office in New Orleans should be able to get you a new passport the day of your appointment. It’s expensive and a pain in the arse, but you should be fine.

Awesome well that is good to know. Thanks for the info. I am ok with the extra headache and expense bc it's totally my fault. And it's better than missing out on 6-7K pre-paid trip bc of it too.

I had a similar experience about 10 years ago. Didn’t realize my passport was expired until the day before my flight to St. Lucia. It was a stressful day but I was able to rush down to New Orleans and get a same day passport. Not a fun day but it all worked out.
Good luck!

For appointments at agencies, the goal is always within 24 hours of appt...if you are leaving that night, day, they will prioritize you.
Lots of folks are ok with coming back the next day so as not to sit around and hope you get it because of other priorities pushing you back

My daughter was in the same boat. She had to have her US Senator set up the appointment and to expedite it. They literally printed it on the spot. But, in her case she had to drive 5 hours to Seattle to get that done. Maybe still worth a call to an aid in their office, explain your situation, and see if they can do anything further.
Hope it makes it and they can print while you're there.
