Went there in July, was beautiful and definitely cold in the morning. If you like hiking Bridal Veil falls is beautiful and right outside of town overlooking the valley. Relatively short hike. Also recommend taking the telluride gondola its free and right in town.

Would the first week of June be too early for some hikes and rafting?

Never been to Telluride, considering going this summer.

I know in the Tetons and other places some trails and roads are still closed at that time of the year

Telluride Brewing is cool. Been friends with one of the owners.
221 South Oak is good but may be closed then for the season.

The best restaurant for both food and ambiance is by far Allred's up on the ridge. It's at the stop on the ridge along the free gondola ride between town and mountain village. You'll want to make your reservation ASAP for June.

Get the dry-aged prime bison ribeye. You won't regret it.

We ate there on our Covid honeymoon to Telluride/Mountain Village when we had to cancel our Hawaii trip.

Same with us in August 2020 Stayed at Peaks Resort. That golf course was fun.

It was the second time I had been there to eat. I'll never go to Telluride and not have a dinner there one night.

I worked there as a bus boy in the fine dining restaurant one summer in colleee, was a trip. Only job I’ve ever had with a uniform. The outside service area is beautiful.
