Things to do near Estes Park, Colorado

Will be traveling near here in a couple of months in early spring time. Any recommendations for restaurants or things to do? Won't be skiing as it is a shorter trip. Are the restrictions bad here? Thanks in advance

We did a tour with "Estes Park Guided Tours" that was pretty good, he has different routes/tours.
Hiking in the park is great, the little downtown area is a nice stroll to check out shops.
Had a good breakfast at a stop right in the heart of the downtown area, trying to remember the name.
The Stanley is nice to check out and grab a drink at the bar, i'd skip eating there.

RMNP may be limited due to snow, but it's an incredible national park. I've only seen it during summer
Maybe check out the Stanley hotel

Went horse back riding there this summer. Went to the Stanley Hotel bar had a cocktail. Went to lake Estes rented some Kayaks. It’s also the entrance to Rocky Mountain National park with some awesome hikes. If you like golf, I think they got a pretty nice 9 hole and 18 hole course.

It’s seen better days but still a nice place for a breakfast/brunch.
Depends on when you go. You said a few months but there is a big difference between April and July.
Trail Ridge road is a great drive and fun way to cover a ton of ground in one day...If it’s fully open
My favorite white water rafting is out of Fort Collins which isn’t a bad drive from Estes.
But the highlight for me is always hiking in the Rockies. Usually a few days just hiking. Tons of options depending on the level you want.
In town is some typical shops that don’t interest me all that much but could be neat to check out.
Aerial Tram that kids usually like. Stocked pond for fishing. Actually caught my diary fish ever about 30 years ago there. Horse back riding.

Was there in October for a wedding. Ate at Bird & Jim, La Cocina, Smoking Daves BBQ and Antonios Pizza. The Pizza joint was the shite, but they were all great. Though, they weren't doing dine in. Had some drinks at The Stanley and The Barrel and both were great.
We hiked up Kruger Rock and that was excellent. The views were incredible. We did it with a 7 year old and a 5 year old. It had some rough spots, but overall wasn't bad.
If Rocky Mountain National Park is still doing Day Passes you need to be on top of your game 2-3 days out. We missed our opportunity and didn't get to go.
As far as restrictions, this is the kind of place that you'll see people riding bikes outside with a fricking mask on.

Stanley Hotel is where Stephen King got his inspiration for The Shining. They shot the TV version while I was in Estes Park. The tour was very interesting.

Highly recommend Bird & Jim and Seasons restaurants. Also the cinnamon roll place is a must! In addition to RMNP, we spent one day fly fishing with a guide, and that was pretty cool. We went in October.

Hiking in the park is awesome. Downtown as some decent restaurants. The Rock and Roll Inn or something like that has good food and bear and usually a band.
