TSA PreCheck - Eligibility Determination

For those of you with TSA Precheck, how long did it take for to find out if you were approved or not?
Went and did my interview / fingerprints Saturday. Checked the status of my application today online and all it says is that eligibility was determined and TSA mailed a letter that I should receive within 10 days. Is this a good sign? A KTN is nowhere to be found on the website.
UPDATE: Received it today.

I did my interview/fingerprints on a Thursday and had an email the following Monday morning with my KTN.

I was once randomly given TSA Precheck on my ticket, went through that line, and you still have to go through all the same body scanners and disrobing etc. The line was a little shorter, but the hassle wasn't really much less for me.

This is definitely NOT true at all airports. At many, TSA Precheck security lines do not require taking off shoes, removing liquids from your bag, or taking off anything other than a bulky coat.

My notification was within 3 business days last year.

quote:Exactly. It probably saved me an hour at the airport last week. On the flip side you have places like MSY that like to put all people in the same line sometimes, precheck or not.

I did Global Entry, which includes Pre Check, and was given my known traveler number before I left the office.
The Global Entry card came about a week later.

When I got Global Entry I had my KTN before I left the interview.

As an aside, how awesome is Global Entry? Scan passport at kiosk and skip the entire line at customs. So worth it!

It’s a great thing at a busy, larger airport.

Not to hijack, but how long did it take y'all to get conditional approval for Global Entry? Now that it's free with the Chase United Card & I can interview at GPT, I finally applied. I applied on 6/1 and it still says "Pending Review".

I got my card within three or four days after interviewing.
My whole profile for the Feds is really vanilla (triggered?) but also positive so I probably was an easy adjudication.
I got mine about a year ago, maybe with the new crunch of freebees via Credit Card offers to pay for them the system has gotten backed up and is delayed.
Or you could have an issue.....???

Maybe so. I realized that I forgot a country, the day after the application, but hope that wouldn't be a big deal.
I see a lot of people get it finalized quick after the interview, but this is just the initial online app.

I applied for Global Entry at the US embassy in London; and used it when I flew back to the States 3 days later. TSA PreCheck included. Both are great to have.

Took a couple weeks for me to receive my KTN. I went to get my fingerprints in downtown Chicago, which might account for some of that time?

Did the precheck at DFW Saturday at an appointment and Monday on the flight out I had it.
