Me and wife for Friday night until Sunday AM

Never been there. She brought up going last night for the weekend. Kids staying with grandparents.

This a good place to check out or will we be bored out of our minds?

Depends what you like to do. OS is pretty small, but between there and Bay St Louis you should be able to string together a good time.

If I was over on that side I’d for sure go see Sweetie! at Lafitte’s on Saturday.

Just so you know:

If y’all are more museum type people the Ohr-Okeefe is super cool.

Glory Bound for music and food, Vestige, Anthony’s, Phoenicia for dinner…good Vietnamese across the bridge, White Pillars over there too.
Can’t really miss with the Shaggy’s, TBT, Felix’s type places over there either.

Should probably take a drive West as well, BSL has a bunch of good restaurants/bars too.

I went to brunch at The Lady May in OS this past Sunday and got a cocktail, beef shank and eggs and my bill was like $25. Delicious drinks and food for very reasonable prices.

Glory Bound Gyro Co for food and music.
Lady May had good breakfast/brunch

Neon Moon's a dive bar that had a good band when we went. and a bunch of pool tables and different areas to sprawl out. That was a couple years ago so not sure how the crowd is now.

if the weather is nice catch a meal and a hang at the shed just north of the interstate. food is just ok (certainly enjoyable) but the scene is very cool. if theres a band playing, all the better

I love Ocean Springs. It's really laid back. If you get bored, all you have to do is cross the bridge to have access to more "activities."

We always drive the coast in and out.

The beach is low key. Families stroll at sunset. Older couples will set up chairs and read. Plenty of people walking their dogs.

Some people rent golf carts. I think it's too small of a footprint so we just walk it.

You can walk downtown and hit all the shops in a morning. The best ones in my opinion are The Pink Rooster, Ocean Springs Mercantile, Coastal, Magpie, Hillyer House, Poppy's, and My Happy Place. Poppy's always has some sort specialty cocktail for sale in the back.

They're trying to channel Key West vibes. You'll see chickens walk in and out of some of the restaurants.

The food is pretty good across the board. Glory Bound is awesome. In my opinion, we've only been to a couple of places that are overrated. You'll mostly have a good time. There's a popsicle and ice cream stand downtown on a side-street if you want something non-acholic and cold. If you want to spend the night at the hotel watching a movie, pick up a pizza from Tom's. The Roost has a small speakeasy that's good if you really want to focus on each other.

The Walter Anderson Museum is worth a visit. The Ohr-O'Keefe Museum is right across the bridge (as is the Paradise Pier Fun Park and Margaritaville arcade).

Walk over to Hartz chicken and damage your body, likely permanently, at the all you can eat fried chicken buffet.

Nice little community. If you get bored, the Beau Rivage is 10 minutes away.

It's the last weekend for the Shuckers. Grab some Skybox tickets and suck up some A/C while watching the game.
