In Baton Rouge? I’ve looked at least once before in Tuscaloosa (as an alternative to riding back to Bham). Very expensive. I suspect BR would be the same.

if you're gonna wait that long might as well try using the Hotel Tonight app. All they do is sell last minute hotel rooms.

what are you waiting for?
You can find decent hotels right off the strip for $130/nt.

Vegas is one place i could care less what hotel i'm staying at b/c i'm literally only there to sleep in it for a few hours.

When occupancy is low, absolutely last minute. When occupancy is high, lol, good luck. They could be sold out. I really don't know how one football game would affect all of Vegas, but when you are trying to go to a huge event like that it almost never makes sense to wait.

You can always book something with free 24 hour cancellation and go from there.

The industry is starting to negatively reward people that wait until the last minute to buy things.

I know not hotel related but I went to a small concert recently and the theatre had 3 levels of seating. Bottom (most expensive), middle, and top (least expensive) floors and they were each priced appropriately. I waited until 30 mins before the concert to buy tickets because a friend was suppose to sell me his without the fees and all. The concert was nowhere close to selling out but at the 1 hour mark, they shutdown purchasing the top and middle floors and only allowed people to buy the bottom floor at the most expensive price.

Get a refundable room rate as a backup to this plan. If it goes down then switch to Priceline. Basically hedge your bet.

Trump International is a great hotel. It is always much less expensive than the better hotels on the strip but the rooms are very large, very nice and very clean. There is no casino there but I liked that. I like playing poker but not a fan of hanging out with the entire casino crowd.

It is a solid property but disconnected from the rest of the strip. If you're planning on walking places it isnt a good spot. If you're getting a taxi or rideshare it is great

That is Labor Day weekend my friend. One of the busiest weekends in Vegas. Gonna be tough finding anything decent on the strip last minute.
