What is your favorite ski town and why?

I've only been to Beaver Creek but it seems to have everything I want in a ski town (quiet, fine dining, nice hotels, pretentious ski instructors, etc). There also seems to be a wide variety of slopes here as well.
ETA: Also, what is the best budget ski location?

Telluride
It’s a little harder to get to than other ski towns, which keeps the crowds down. Great skiing for all levels. Excellent restaurants and bars. Perfect ski town in my opinion

Never been to BC but isn't it more of a village than a town. When I think of ski town I think of Breckenridge, Aspen, or steamboat.

Is it okay to express my favorite in photos?

Yeah it's pretty quiet and is West of Vail so past most of the other CO ski towns which I'm told limits the crowd (I don't really have much to compare it to).

Park city Utah, 9 ski resorts within an hour drive, cool old town too

Beaver Creek is a really cool spot, but I'd call it more of a ski resort village than a real "ski town". Avon, where BC is located, is great, but not what I picture when I think of ski town.
I haven't been, but Telluride is the epitome of a ski town.
I'm biased, because it's been home for me these past two years, but Steamboat Springs is a damn fine ski town as well. Winter olympians train at a ski hill in downtown. Hot Springs just outside town. Great Main Street area.
Aspen is ritzy, but when the gondola starts in downtown, it makes for a good ski town. Just a different type. Huge nightlife scene. BellyUp is one of my favorite music venues.
Breck also has a rocking Main Street and downtown district right below the ski resort. Park City is similar to Breck IMO. Probably prefer PC to Breck.
The town of Jackson is like 15 miles from Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, but Jackson is a skiing town. That's for sure. The little ski hill that is in town, Snow King, has steeper terrain than a lot resorts in the West.

Breck and Park City are both really nice places with solid Main Streets. I agree that beaver creek and places like Vail and Keystone are more of a village resort than ski town.

Yeah, that was my bad. Town/village doesn't make too much of a difference to me though as I'm usually not in the party mood after skiing all day. Plus I try to keep alcohol consumption to a minimum so I don't risk altitude sickness or ruining a day of skiing.

Crested Butte, Telluride, Silverton, and Incline Village NV are all favorites of mine. They’re all a little more low key and authentic than Park City and places like that. They’re all good though, any place that you can ski is most likely going to have a real good vibe to it.

HGG got crucified on here the other day for photobombing threads. At least you didn’t post 50 like he did

We love Breck. Been there more than anywhere else. Invested in a place there. Love it.

Aspen
North Shore of Lake Tahoe. More specifically, Squaw Valley but the other resorts are great (Northstar, Alpine)

Blacktail in Lakeside, MT is nice. A lot more low key - less crowds which I enjoy.

I second this. It’s only about an hour south of where I live and it’s much better on the pocket and is less crowded. More of a locals feel.
Absolutely gorgeous views of Flathead Valley, Flathead Lake, Glacier off in the distance as well as the Swan Range to boot.

Whistler. It is the Magic Kingdom of ski resorts. You never have to get in a car. Everything is in the village.
