What to do in Minnesota? Based in twin cities area.

Going to visit my mom in St Paul the first week of June. Because of my medical issues I need to be in st paul TThS but I can road trip other days. I like our doors stuff. I see the fair isn't open while I'm there. I may catch a MLB game.
But I'm totally unfamiliar with Minnesota.
I can't really dine out anymore so not looking for food recs just things to do.

The minor league team in St. Paul’s has an awesome downtown stadium. Games are arguably more fun than the twins. Get a seat along the beer rail in the outfield and enjoy some sunshine.
I got nothing else.

Saints games are a lot of fun, for sure. Lowertown is a nice pocket of St. Paul, too - Barrel Theory makes fantastic IPAs. Aside from that, St. Paul can get sleepy at times. Definitely a neighborhood-driven part of the Twin Cities. Some nice walking along the Mississippi and between Macalester / UST.

Unfortunately, Twins are gone first week of June. Sucks, because I was planning for that week, too. Ended up switching a couple weeks later and going to catch a Thursday day game with some buddies.
However, still an easy drive over to Minneapolis. Can walk around Lake Harriet, Lake of the Isles, and Lake Calhoun (officially known as Bde Maka Ska). Sculpture Garden and Loring Park is a great way to spend a summer day. North Loop is the Warehouse District of MPLS. Know you aren't planning on drinking or going out to eat, but may be worth grabbing a pizza from Black Sheep to bring back to St. Paul and share with your mom. If you wanted to check out University of Minnesota, campus is pretty cool. Think a lot of people are surprised by its size and enrollment.

Buddy Boy Fine BBQ in Minnetrista.
Way better than it has any business being in a twin cities suburb.
ETA: my reading comprehension sucks.

I always enjoy driving the Great River Road on the Wisconsin side from Red Wing down to Winona. Some cool small towns to stop in as well.
Also, they have some great cideries around the state if you want to try something that we don’t have down south.

Red wing looks pretty nice. Also make Pepin.
I think I'll trek to the Wisconsin side

One of my favorite cities to visit. Not in the winter.
Things I like to do when I go there...
Walk around Lake Calhoun. Now Bde Maka Ska Park. Vibrant neighborhoods around it with restaurants and bars.
Check out the locks and walk around St. Anthony's Falls.
Walk across the 10th Avenue Bridge and go see the University of Minnesota.
Minnehaha Falls Park is near downtown and beautiful.

There's a little town on Lake Minntetonka called Wayzata. Lots of fun things to do there. You can rent a boat and go on the lake too and check out all the mansions. Always fun.
Make sure you go see University of Minnesota. It's a really nice campus. The Mississippi River runs right by it. It looks way different there than it does here.

Like someone said, do a loop and cross over in Winona so you hit both sides. Get a donut at Bloedows.

Stillwater MN or Hudson, WI is a really nice side trip. Either is about 30 min from st Paul. The i94 construction is a bitch right now though.
Love the Chain of Lake in MPLS and the river in St Paul has lots of parks.
St Paul has some really good restaurants on the 7th street area as well.

Drive the northshore from Duluth up. Plenty of waterfalls and Splitrock Lighhouse.

Seconded. Love the north shore and the woods above it. Got a buddy with a cabin up there and it's awesome.

It's actually not that far from the twin cities (2.5 hrs) but there's also some beautiful state parks just south of Duluth that are closer and full of pretty forests.
I love Jay Cooke and Banning State Parks there.

Did the Northshore drive am the way to Thunder Bay. A lot of beast walking trails and overlooks off the road. .
Thinking about doing the river road loop today and going into Wisconsin.
May also go to the Conservatory and the milking district of Minneapolis. Did see a Saints game as the apartmentin staying in is only two blocks away. That was fun.
St paul has a decent downtown. I haven't really gone into Minneapolis much. Other than the mall of America but I think that was a suburb.
Not much to do in Thunder Bay. Did go to Fort William historical park which was the highlight. But the town itself was really run down.
