Skydiving booked. Dinner at Mastro’s and staying at the grand Duca Hotel. Have a 2024 Corvette rented for one day. Will be there Thursday through Sunday. Any other ideas?

Rented a Vette from Turo. Car was amazing.

She had no clue about the skydiving. She did awesome and the staff and instructors at Spaceland Skydiving were absolutely great. I highly recommend everyone doing this at least once in your life.

Back on the ground safe!

Had a room at the Hotel Granduca. It was a stellar experience!

Had dinner at Mastro's Saturday night. Amazing service. We definitely felt out of place though. Rolls Royces, Bentley's and Ferrari's in the parking lot. Wife had a A5 Japanese Wagyu tenderloin which was exquisite. Very expensive night. Plus a bottle Caymus 50.

The trip was crazy! Spent way to much money....but you only turn 50 once. It's like turning 21 again except with money!

Drive that Vette thru Memorial Park, the Zoo area, Downtown, Uptown Houston, The Heights area and stop at BB's for Louisiana shrimp and a cold beer. Enjoy!!

Not a fan of Mastros; Went twice; One time with a group of co-workers and the second time with a group of friends. Both times, nobody liked their steaks. If going for steaks, there's plenty of better options like B&B Butchers, Pappa's Steakhouse, Steak 48, etc.

Agree with this. My suggestion is switch to B&B.

Also go to an Astros game if they are in town. If you have time, driving that ‘vet down to Galveston and hanging out on The Strand for a couple hours would be pretty fun.

Granduca is a great hotel. They have really good cocktails at the bar. My wife and I personally like their food and appetizers. It’s one of the more relaxing places to stay and usually on Saturdays they have a pianist play. Possibly Friday as well.
It sounds like you love your wife and are definitely rolling out the red carpet. Congrats for being a good husband. Cheers to your weekend!

Emilia's Havana for drinks

Have dinner @ Turner's (right below it) then go upstairs for a true prohibition-style speakeasy experience.... super cool

Live cuban music, tiny bar, perfect date spot

I do love B&B Butchers. It's my favorite steakhouse in Houston. But if I were really doing it up big, I'd choose Steak 48 or Georgia James.

I also love the Astros and was a former season ticket holder, but does his WIFE love the Astros.

Does your wife love cool cars and want to ride about in a brand new Vette or is that more of a present and cool thing for the OP? I'd rather have a spa day at the hotel or a cabana at the hotel by the pool.

Then you definitely need to go check out Turner’s, it is the same owner as B&B.

Super romantic, male piano player and a female jazz singer, inside it is it is dimly lit and intimate for A great date! Only about 15 small tables

I am not talking about Turner’s cut, that is a new upscale steakhouse from the same owner, I’m talking about just Turners.

Segreto Lounge… it’s literally right by Mastro’s steakhouse

They have a pretty strict dress code, so if you guys are dressing up it will be a pretty cool spot to go have cocktails after dinner. It is super sexy inside.

Great job and congratulations on the whole experience. I love when a man values his wife and spoils her like you did. Seriously kudos to you. The pictures were cool.

Spaceland was a great idea if you are willing to skydive. I have only heard stellar reviews about them and their instructors. Unfortunately, I'm too much of a pansy to skydive.

I thought the same. Ive repelled from blackhawks in the military. But jumping from a plane was completely “Holy shite” moment for both of us!
