No he’s not a starting NFL QB. But he is a very valuable player who is serviceable as a backup. And he’s a first class human being who will never embarrass your team.

But we do have an elite defense and we don't need a 5k yard QB because of that. We need a game manager that makes plays here and there and doesn't lose the game for us. He is definitely our best option with what we have to work with, especially since our offensive line is terrible and he can run.

I think we should appreciate Taysom. Yes, we all can agree he’s not the QB of the future. But he’s sticking in there and winning us games. And its not like we’re giving him much help. Our O line has been injured and haven’t played together, leading to a bad run game. I addition to a receiving group that can’t get open and when they do, they drop half the passes. I think he’s going out there and doing his best, and thats all we can ask for.

He’s not the long term answer at QB, but then again, no one is saying he is. Payton named Winston the starter after training camp. Taysom was the 3rd QB to start, etc.
The QB debate has given us all these “he’s poo” comments when in reality he’s been an asset to this team, great story, great leader, etc. He has contributed to keeping us above water and staying in playoff hunt. He’s been competent, and he can run. It’s a shame all the hate he gets, but most of these fans are dumb AF so I shouldn’t be surprised.

He tries to make every play count. Unlike the other QB's this year, he's been able pump his team mates and give the defense a little more rest. In short, he's our best option right now....

Well said…not to mention a plantar fascia injury and a mallet finger injury with a splint on his throwing hand.

That being said, he's not a full time starting QB. Shoehorning him into that might be a quick, ugly fix but it isn't doing him or really us any favors. Regardless of that weird, QB laden contract he just signed, he's a much better TE/RB/WR/FB/Wildcat first than just a quarterback.

These type of “what if” type caveat comments never make sense to me. It doesn’t matter, you’re speaking in hypotheticals. Same energy saying “If Tom Brady didn’t have a great arm, he wouldn’t be the GOAT”, makes no sense.
I don’t think he’s our long term answer at QB but he’s the best option we have for now. He DOES have our defense and he also has a great record as starter, those are the facts.
