That’s an extremely US-centric world view. Maybe, just maybe, other countries don’t define themselves by their relation to the US and just see us as a country they either have to deal with or work with.

Maybe...

And we are in NATO largely to stymie Russia. That doesn’t mean they define us as a nation.

An attack on a “secret” Russian air defense base in Crimea killed its commander

A missile strike on a “secret” Russian air defense base in the temporarily occupied Crimea killed a unit commander.

Russian media reported on this.

The burial of the commander, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Kulakov, took place in the city of Alushta.

He served in the 3rd Radio Technical Regiment (military unit No. 85683) of the Russian Aerospace Forces, which monitored the airspace over Ukraine.

Kulakov died as a result of a missile attack on May 13, 2024, when Storm Shadow missiles attacked a radio engineering unit on the top of Bedenekyr.

The fact of his death confirms that the attack on the enemy’s air defense base was successful, and that some damage was done to the stationary systems.

It should be noted that prior to the annexation of Crimea, the former commander served in the 40th Radio Technical Brigade of the South Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

After the annexation, Kulakov was supposed to return to mainland Ukraine, but decided to stay and take an oath to the Russian Armed Forces, and became a traitor.

I'm just amazed that some of you don't understand the simple fact that the U.S. is the King Kong of global affairs... and we have no choice in that (just in how we use that power).

We are the world's largest economy, have been since before the Civil War, and that's not going to change anytime soon, if ever... we also are the leading example of Democratic rule by the people that makes people all around the world aspire to and fight for the same.

That’s not the conversation but I think that’s fairly obvious given current events

We aren’t even the leading example of Democratic rule in North America per the EIU rankings

I personally think that’s laughable given Canada’s issues, but I digress.

We are far from the beacon on a hill you make us out to be. Much Better than Russia and China…. And Ukraine. But that’s not a high bar to clear

We’re ruled by an oligarchy. The republic died a long time ago.

Spot on. Russia and NATO need each other, like Batman and the Joker.

You think Batman and The Joker are equally moral?

Very good people on both sides?

At the same time, the Ukrainian army is struggling to line up 250,000 men on the front line. "In all brigades, 40% of the workforce is missing," says a French military source to Europe 1. "We are facing a wave of desertion among young conscripts," confirms a Ukrainian officer. "In Kiev, we are no longer told about armaments but about a recruitment problem," continues a French soldier returning from the front after an observation mission.

Meanwhile Russian troops are on the offensive and are on the brink of surrounding Kharkiv, right?

We’ve been following the war herd formonths and again and again we read the propaganda that Russia is on the brink of crushing Ukraine. When they don’t we read that it’s a war of attrition.

Ukraine isn’t on the lbrink of winning anything, but they have proven to be anything but an easy mark. They might have thrir nightclubs full and half their troops are dead or deserters, but someone is left stopping the Russians.

I actually specifically chose this analogy because there is one bad guy and one good

Offensive yes, surrounding Kharkov, no.

They’re attacking all across the front and exploiting the gaps where Kiev has pulled troops out. This will lead to a cascade of failures all along the front.

Kind of funny. But it's probably a customized result based on your search history, CK.

Mine doesn't pick it up as a toilet.

What is more impressive is that Russia has taken everything, every imaginable weapon, intel, advisors, and sanctions from the west.....and they still comin, everyday taking more territory.

Ironically it is Russia fighting for its sovereignty against the global cabal, one of the remaining countries willing to do so, goodness knows the US citizenry succumbed to the wishes of the cabal years ago and its evidenced time and again on this thread.

I’ve said for a while I think this fight is more of an even fight than the bots imply it is when western support is factored in
