Would boycotting a woke company’s primary product end its “wokeness”?

Imagine if every OMB supporter boycotted Coca-Cola for a week. Just a week. Would the financial impact be meaningful enough for Coca-Cola & other companies to take notice & reevaluate their support of left-wing culture?

No but we should do it anyway, if for no other reason than unity and morale

But it should be something smaller than Coke with a clearly defined purpose instead of a broad based one, like the aforementioned Dick's for their open advocacy of abortion despite being funded by normal and largely conservative American families.

And the goal should be to break them and put them out of business, not to reevaluate a given stance. And we need to be prepared to help the employees effected land elsewhere, although that wouldn't be a serious problem in the current environment.

No, they are controlled by debt holders, backers, and loan people on that level...
(State St, Blackrock, Vanguard, etc.)

If, big IF, everyone quit their stuff, these people running everything would just extend corporate debt, as they are the ones demanding woke shift.

NFL, Coke, others are doing as they're told.

I get the feeling that Netflix backed off some of their most egregious projects as a result of market pressure.

I’m all for boycots. I’ve purged my house from as many Disney products as possible (But I just reminded myself that I need to find an alternative to Hulu.)

Disney is/has become the worst performing stock in the S&P 500 because it put wokeness above it's core principles, so consumers forgoing their products/content has a real effect.

Activist investors are now pushing Disney for major restructuring of content, changing management and spinning off major losers (e.g. ESPN) because of the rapid decline.

Disney tried to spin their announcement they'll need to add commercials to PAID streaming accounts as a success, when it's really a sign they can't sustain the service profitably (similar to Netflix's decline and recent price increase.) It's the same reason ESPN+ is in a death spiral, Clay Travis wrote about it's failure in detail on Outkick.

Putting politics above your core business is a loser every time it's tried, see Nike, NBA and NFL engagement in last ~2 years.

Not true... I gave up very good season tickets (Football, Softball, Basketball, and Baseball) because some of the woke crap UA was pulling...

Not saying I won't watch a college game if I am at home and nothing else is going on but I don't watch 1/3 as many games as I once did...

Most of my friends only watch college football and never watch NFL anymore. College games are much less woke than NFL.

The trend of elevating the individual athletes over the schools at all costs is going to change that trend. CFB will not be around in two decades.

Well this shows the challenge, but it's also not something anyone is going to feel very connected to. How do you know when you're having success? What's the rest of the country doing?

Whereas if you do it to the business down the street, you'll more readily see the impact. And it'll be harder to obfuscate the reason for the trouble.

And Target, Nike, etc...see Chick-fil-a (most notable, I'm sure there are more) on the left.

I noticed that Gillette blocked replies on Twitter. They were getting hammered on every tweet they made following the toxic masculinity commercial.

Gillette probably did feel it, although I'm sure they were able to bury it under a bunch of other circumstantial variables

My household hasn’t watched an NFL game in probably 3 years. Not even a Superbowl.

I think so. It may take a while, but the bottom line for a business is money and if they take a serious financial hit they will have to change things. They will do it quietly, but I think they will do it. We’ll see if Hollywood get the message that’s being sent with the woke movies bombing.

I don’t think it would.

This woke bullshite is all related to ESG idiocy invented by a bunch of globalists who want to boss everyone around.

ESG permits these large businesses to access $$$

Insurance companies don’t make money on your insurance premiums. They make $$$ on investing your premiums.

Car companies don’t make $$$ selling you cars. They make money financing your car.

The subscription model of everything means that these assholes will try to control you.

I fricking hate big business. Don’t trust a one of ‘em.
