100% true, but newer 870s are trash compared to older ones. I started on an 870 and still have mine. Need to break it out soon for old times sake.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a light, reliable 12 gauge that isn't extremely

I have Winchester SPX4. It’s a 3.5” gun in mossy camo and I paid around $950 for it. I came from an A300. It’s lighter and recoil is less. Great in between gun between the A400 and $600 guns.

Have a Beretta A391 Extrema and it is a great gun. Never failed but it is heavy.

Also have a Benelli Super Nova that is a beast. If I had to keep only one it would be the Super Nova.

The Benelli is less than half the price of the Beretta but a fantastic weapon.

As others have said, try as many as you can and get what feels good. They are all good and will take game for you.

Retay feel like cheap garbage. I’d go Franchi for an entry level gun.

Have you considered an older Remington Model 1100?

If you go pump the only option is the Nova, if an auto I would go franchi, I may be buying myself one soon.
