its really a unique taste and whether or not its the 'best', it certainly qualifies as a unique flavor that stays with you for a long time.

first thing i do when i visit monroe is order a johnnys pizza to pick up in my car on the way to my mom's house.

The sweep the kitchen is absolutely delicious and there's no where else you can buy a pizza that tastes like it.

Old Monroe was actually a fertile ground for new businesses. It was basically the Italian city in Louisiana there for a while. The place is fricking depressing now.

Great thread! 2 places I used to work have been mentioned, Critter’s Creek (I was the Rampage operator) and the TCBY in Lakeshore. Great memories!

Damn . I'd forgotten there was ever a TCBY out in Lakeshore... Was it in that "new" Brookshires shopping center, sort of across the street from Cypress Inn??

my uncle owned that one as well. also he had one in Alex and one in Shreveport.

If you worked at that tcby then you very likely met my uncle. He was like 7 feet tall and full of piss and vinegar.

I'm so glad someone mentioned the original Clyde's out on highway 15. They had a patch of concrete on the floor by the cashier with some silver dollars stick on it... I kicked and scuffed at those frickers for many many years just praying one would let loose for me!!!!

That TCBY got sold about a week after I started working there. I vaguely remember a tall guy coming in sometimes. Seems like he was the main owner’s brother. I thought a group of investors bought it. Maybe your uncle was the seller.

No mention of Aron’s Pharmacy and the grill in the back, with Ruth and Angie?

And what about the Boomerang Shop in the Garden District?
