My Tactacam has suddenly stopped taking pics. Last weekend I visibly saw deer in front of the camera but it wasn’t taking pics. I went down to look and the camera took my pic. It has taken my pic since but none of any deer. Any ideas?

How high is the cam off the ground?

Also did you walk closer to the camera than the deer were when you saw them?

It’s at 6. It’s just crazy that it was working and I know deer have been there but no pics.

Move it to 9 is the first thing I would do. Had something similar happen on one of mine. Would take pics of me filling my feeder but no deer after it was taking pics of deer before. Moved to 9 and now getting pics again.

Let me know if you figure something out. Mine did thensame thing this week. I walked in front of it several times Monday, and it sent nothing. But it has sent a pic of a spike and crow since. But that's it.

Same here with mine. Been working great since September but the last week or so it hasn't been taking pictures like it should (I've hunted and seen deer and not gotten pictures). I swapped to the tactacam brand SD card, put new batteries even though the old batteries were good, turned up sensitivity to 9, and starting doing a checkin photo. Checkin photos are being sent twice a day like they should but I'm still having issues with it taking deer pics.

Download the software update from the nrt. Put on a card and put it in the cam when it's turned off. Turn it on and hold test button for like 30 seconds and it will update the camera. Fixed mine

Which model do you have? I got the X PRO (R5.0). Firmware is 6MR3RCWC402.

Make sure you’re using a card that’s got all the specs they recommend, and a fresh set of batteries. It’s buy once cry once with the cards, cause you can set them to overwrite themselves and just save anything you want to keep. Any issue I’ve had was resolved with that, especially with batteries. Voltage will drop out when they’re cold then it’ll get a little juice back in the afternoon when they warm up.

I'm having the same problems and will try these suggestions. My camera is sending the check in picture at 8am and 8pm.
I was bragging on my Moultrie cameras now that camera is not sending even when I walk in front of it. But those Moultrie always seemed to have app problems.

Same here. Stopped taking pics 3-4 days ago on two different cameras. Had worked really well since September (changed batteries twice since). Is it the software update??

I was a big supporter of Tactacam when I first got them. After having them run for several years now, I started to move over to Wiseeye as one goes down. I literally watched 3 deer go in front of the camera for about 10 minutes one morning with zero pics. It has happened on several occasions.

Also, Tactacams are very picky about the SD Card. You basically have to replace the SD card each year. I have had several SD cards go bad.

Last, their customer support is pure garbage. Never would they take my call but wanted to handle everything over email and in the end they said just send us $80 bucks and we will test it and replace and keep the $80 bucks. A bunch of us at our camp all had Tactacams and everyone is starting to ditch them.
