I go with natural cedar mulch every year. Looks nice and termites don't like it

Brown or Black mulch. I use the mulch treated with preen. Really stops the weeds. Mulch for areas I want to look really nice. Pine straw in front shrub beds.

Is not all mulch colored? Are you referring to cedar chip mulch which is the color of cedar?

I don't know anything about gardening, but our last 2 landscapers always use pine straw. It might be because it has to be redone every year.

I got a gnarly infestation of devil fingers from using black mulch from Home Depot. I ended up doing a number on my landscaping and killing a tree trying to clear that shite out.

It stunk real bad. I considered tossing them into the yards of my foes.
