LG makes great tvs, and they maintain their own custom operating system for them.

Can't really go wrong with Vizio. I have a 65" and it's decent enough for me and it was cheap as hell brand bew from Walmart
However, their remote control fricking sucks. Luckily, I have xfinity remote control and don't ever have to use the Vizio TV remote but for the price I paid for the TV, I felt like I got a hell of a good deal with decent quality picture - I did not say that it is the best 15k picture quality ever.
But for me, I am happy with the qulity. it's nice and crisp looking and the colors pop. That's all I need (especially for the price point)

overall quality on those things is good enough to where you don't have to spend top dollar for the name, I suspect that electronics are pretty much the same as they've always been, a lot of the same guts in those tvs regardless of the name on the outside

Consumer Reports no matter what size TV has Sony, Samsung, and LG in various position as the top 3 or near the top. Below the top 3 they are all have about the same rating except Vizio which is consistently at the bottom of the ratings.

Check out the tech board. My suggestion, Sony.

Haven’t bought a new TV in a decade. I’m always shocked at how cheap they are now. Ive been happy with our Samsung, but I also like our cheap arse Insignia. Maybe it’s because I grew up watching grainy TV.
I bought my first flat screen in 2008 for about $1K. The last tv I bought was for my patio and was about $200. It's exponentially better in every way (not to mention about half the weight)

I just priced out a 43" TV. Samsung was the bet buy. LG had nice TV's too but they just changed over their interface for 2023 that isn't backwards compatible to earlier TV's and they didn't have the new interface available in smaller TV's yet. The previous interface must be really bad since they just introduced it in 2021 and are already canning it.
Anything larger like a 60", I swear by Sony. Just too expensive for a 43".

I’m done spending crazy money on TVs. The last two I bought were TCL roku TVs and they have been great.
You can get a 43” for under $200 at the walmarks
There is really no significant difference in the picture quality of a $200 tv vs a $2,000 tv.

Was always a huge Samsung guy and went into buy another a few years ago and the rep at Best Buy asked if I’d ever looked at an LG Oled and I said no and wasn’t interested. He kept pushing so I said okay. Was blown away and the sound was also incredible. Love my LG.

my last purchase was LG oled and have been quite pleased. i moved up from a plasma since oled was the next tech that i think had as good as pic quality.

I got a 19" b/w Magnavox I'll part with for the right number.

I'm still rocking about a 13 year old Vizio LCD
I still have a 32" I bought in 2009. Best HD TV I've ever had.

I have Samsungs in every room but my office where I have a TCL just because I needed a new TV and was tired of dealing with the ROKU. But if I were you, I would just look here for the best option for you.

I agree with the crappy remote comment another poster made but otherwise it's been a great TV. I don't really see any reason to replace ours if it still works fine. I'm sure the picture isn't as good as current models but we don't watch that much TV anyway.
