Goodness gracious episode 5 was “jump the shark” awful. Have to finish it but damn this season disappointed.

I enjoyed it, but this season was too short. It’s a fast paced thrill ride which is exactly what you want. But only 6 episodes felt like they skipped a few steps. I’m not looking for filler episodes but it felt like it ended when it was just getting good.

I like a little realism in my espionage/action thrillers. This took so many narrative shortcuts and featured so many impossible scenarios that I just chuckled my way through most of the season.

Spoiler alert:

I overall enjoyed it, but I really want to know who his burn surgeon is. Incredible almost immediate recovery from 3rd degree scalding water burns across his whole back!

Do you have to watch any of the previous 3 seasons in order to follow and understand this one

It might help a little to understand the relationships between the different people, and they do make some references to what went down in season 3, but they give you enough context that you'll be able to figure it out.

Not really, but some things will make more sense.

Finally finished season 4. It was a bit rushed but enjoyed overall.

Definitely in for a Chavez spinoff.

I think Peña is miscast as Chavez.

Horribly miscast. It actually affected how much I enjoyed this season because he was just so out of place.

Agree on all points. This show had 1 good season and 3 mediocre to bad. It became too unrealistic

Season 4 of Jack Ryan was by far the worst. Thin, dumb plot.

Apparently Season 2 of Reacher is in production. Let's hope that's better.

My problem with season 4 is when did Jack Ryan become a tier 1 operator... As someone who has read the books multiple times, this annoys the hell out of me. I only really liked season 1.

Season 4 definitely devolved all the way to "dumb action". Shame, the character and season 1 were great. Too many leaps and lack of meaningful details this last season.
