The church is a house. They fixed up the pool and turned it into a baptistry.

There's a link on their website that says "Pastors Staff".. they aren't trying to hide it at all

If the internet existed in the 70s what would Jim Jones' website have looked like?

I don't get it. It's just a picture of families and couples that work there.

Much better talent at the Denham cult location than the Texas cult location. Go figure. We can’t fix a pothole, but we produce some fine womenz

I’ve always been confused as to how people fall for this shite. I know they prey on certain people (young, in trouble, emotional, lost someone close, etc) and I understand the people are vulnerable. But I just don’t understand how they go this far without knowing something isn’t right.

It seems like their two main targets are teenagers who are still confused about life and people who just came out of rehab. With that said, they are able to draw in people who you would probably never imagine would fall for it.

Someone I grew up with got into the 7th-Day Adventist. He worked for a company in Lafayette and evidently people he worked with were in it. He graduated college, had a good job, wife, kids.. His wife left him because he wouldn't leave the church. He left it about 2 years after she left him, but he stopped associating with everyone.

Evidently Saturday to them is like Sunday for everyone else. So he would go to church for most of the day on Saturday..But he got sucked in pretty far.
