JaMarcus Russell 2nd best quarterback in Lsu history

2004-2006. Different game today. Not saying that a pro style can’t be good but there are too many dual treats who truly are DUAL threats. 20 years ago, dual threat meant a running QB with an average ability to throw… see Milroe.

All the best QB’s in any level of football have mobility now. The days of the statue qb are long gone get used to it.

It still does. Truly dual threat qbs are still rare and this thread is dumb.

and Jamarcus.

Jamarcus actually stepped up his run game in his last year. In college he was the real deal.

So you really do live on an island.

The offensive line was much better this year, but there were a lot of times when Daniels would have been sacked if he wasn't so mobile. Probably half his rushing yards came from escaping pressure.

I think the age of the pure pocket passes is over.

Don’t necessarily need a guy like JD but have to have someone mobile enough to get out of trouble if the pocket collapses

LOL. I think you can argue that he’s #3. But Burrow and Daniels are 1 and 2 and it should net even be debatable

have nothing bad to say about Daniels..He is special

Jayden is approaching QB perfection. A&M had a good D and they played keep away on O and like clockwork he puts 42 pts on them. O really have no idea how a DC can stop him right now.

Marino, Manning, and Brady were all slow of foot but all excelled. I think an immobile QB can still be successful but they are less 'forgiving' than someone who xan extend plays.

Jamarcus was a lot skinnier in high school and ran a ton. If he played in todays game he may never have let the weight get out of control (in college at least)

But can Jayden throw an 80 yard pass on his knees?

Dual threats are always the better qbs in today’s game. Doesn’t always translate to the nfl well but it’s pretty standard in CFB.

The days of having the prototypical pocket QB is gone. QBs will be more dynamic. It's been coming for a while now.

An offense is always unlocked by the downfield passing game. Always. That takes more skill and intelligence than any other QB skill. Any big time HS athlete can come in and scramble.

Recruit guys who can get the WR talent involved.
