I thought all washer fluid was anti-freeze?

I had a dealer that when I would get my vehicle serviced there, they would top off the washer reservoir with water. It froze and it split the reservoir. The mechanic admitted that the owner told them that was the policy, so I called GM and it was replaced free of charge.

Mine is Prestone with bug wash, 32F protection. It is supposed to get to single digits here in Huntsville tonight. I may need a new reservoir after this snap.

No. It’s different than the water/coolant in your rad/engine.
There is minimal amount of water from the washer reservoir to the washer motor. Freezing there isn’t really a big deal.
Edit: this is for southern states. If you are in a state that gets very cold, you typically have de-icer in the reservoir.

Run your vehicle for about 20 minutes before you go to bed. The engine will hold enough heat in there for several hours. That should cut down the time it's exposed to the extreme temperatures.

I've never done anything with my washer fluid, and never had a problem.

I usually put it in when it’s warm weather. Can’t stand doing it during freezing temps.

Dump some of that unused Covid sanitizer in your reservoir.

Typical 'Blue' washer fluid is good to a '0 degrees' air temp before freezing. Purple or 'High Alcohol' fluids will take you to -30 degrees. Be careful though, the added alcohol in fluids will dry and crack wiper blades.

Ok, I’ll give it a shot.

I added some rubbing alcohol to mine as it was already frozen.
Put a space heater under my hood for a 30 min and it thawed it out.
Pushed some fluid into my windshield for a long squeeze 10 seconds or so
Hasn’t frozen up again
I need new blades anyways so I’m ok if the alcohol damages them more

I was traveling from Chattanooga back to Auburn last Christmas when it got down into the teens and froze over. Had regular windshield wiper fluid. It froze over driving down the interstate. Problem was the salt on the road would coat the window and I had no way to clean it off. Pulled over at the pilot at the bucees exit and bought some 0 degree fluid. Got the system thawed out and fluid cycled through it. Used my window washers more that trip than a normal year of ownership.

No.
The washer is inside your house and the temps are what temp is inside the house so it won’t freeze
