Poor guy should’ve never been head OC. He’s a great #2 and served us well in that role. He did improve play-calling in the second half of the season and work to remedy his errors. Wish him the best wherever he ends up.

Pete Carmichael was a valued member of the Saints staff for 18 years. In that time, he earned the respect of the entire football operation, including Drew Brees & Sean Payton. His tenure in NOLA didn't end the way he wanted, but that doesn't tarnish his outstanding body of work.

But this is a win for the org. Either we drastically improve, or we don’t and DA is out of excuses for sucking and gets fired after next season.

It’s his own fault for getting on board with a piece of shite like Allen. Should have saw the guy would throw him under under the bus when the heat got on.

The fact that he had to be fricking convinced to take the job tells you he wouldn’t be good at the job.

Thanks for being extremely conservative at the beginning of the season with your play calling and refusing to use some key pieces throughout the season costing the team a division title, and what appeared to have been a solid shot at another playoff win?

I don't blame the guy one bit. He didn't want the responsibility in the first place. That's on shitty management and a lack luster head coach for not pursuing others.

Pete sucked without Drew Brees at the helm.

Saying he was a scapegoat would imply that he wasn't bad, which he was bad.

He was a great coach and a decent dude. He was happy with his role and got talked into being a coordinator. He should have never been out in the position. I wish him well.

He was (probably pretty well) paid to do better at a job than he did.

So as to the issue of any owing to be reconciled, Pete should be happy things are like they are.

He always seemed to be in over his head.
