Had Blue Oak for lunch yesterday.

10 wing platter, which comes with two sides. One of the sides was Brussels sprouts which is a slight up charge for some reason. Ordered an ice tea.

Price before tip (which they ask for) - $30.11. Insane. Seems at least ten dollars too high right.

Did they not have the prices displayed while you were ordering? Everything is expensive these days.

Everything is expensive these days but BBQ restaurants are very high.

I found out the hard way when I went to Terry Black's hungry.

I feel like they started up charging the Brussels because they are popular.

Central City bbq is arse, but they do have better wings vs blue oak. They are expensive too, however

You picked one of the most expensive items they have Show me any non-chain BBQ place where you can get an entree, 2 sides and a drink for the $20 after tax you think it should cost.

Awful lot of downvotes with no suggestions on where this mythical BBQ shop is

What are the other sides that sprouts is an upcharge?

$30 for a 10 wing meal and drink feels about 8 bucks too high right now.

If Costco brisket hasn't gone back to $2.96/lb then I can't imagine what it's like buying BBQ from a restaurant.

The cost of doing business in the restaurant industry has gone up probably on average 30%. Labor and supply costs are causing the price increases. I know a guy that sells hamburgers for $15 for a combo meal. He said he has to sell almost 75 a day just to break even on his costs.

Is that 10 whole wings or 10 wing parts/pieces?

This entire thread is fricked.

Yes every restaurant is high.
Cooking at home is even high.

But goddamn…thirty dollars for wings and brussel sprouts?
And can we stop pretending Brussels are a special side ? They suck

At one time in my life wings were considered “cheap eats”

Also what did they charge you for tea? Probably like $3.50. If I’m not drinking alcohol at a restaurant I’m just ordering water. Can’t understand paying 3.50 for a tea/fountain drink.
