What’s the difference in semaglutide and tirzepatide?
You mentioned the ladder isn’t catabolic. Can you educate me on how one could be but not the other?

quote:They're 2 totally different drugs. Sema works on one receptor, GLP. Tirz works on dual receptors, GLP & GIP. Tirz is the far superior drug. The additional GIP agonist not only furthers appetite suppression but also decreases negative side effects such as nausea/vomiting/fatigue.

Retatrutide is the latest one coming down the pipeline. It isn’t FDA approved yet but it’s pretty deep into trials with great success. It works on 3 receptors, GLP, GIP, & Glucagon. Some guys on a group im in love it so far. I’m a tirz guy from the get go so I’m just sticking with what works for me.

the differences were explained above
but neither is catabolic. both are anti catabolic
the reason you are seeing muscle loss in people is because people are going super low calorie and not eating much protein and not performing resistance training. the anti catabolic effect isnt strong enough to overcome the lack of protien.
we see this in those that go on low low calorie diets no matter what they are on, even those on steroids.
but we have studies on both compounds that show if you hit your protein mark and add progressive resistance training....you will not only not lose muscle but chance you may add some depending on experience.
Like so many drugs in the past, people are using these as a crutch....people just dont develop and use healthy habits. it sucks, i can preach it all day but unless someone is actually going to follow it, its a waste of time
now i will say some people are extreme responders to Tirz. Seems to be more common in those serious about bodybuilding. Gorilla Chemist recently talked about this, where he took a relative low dose of tirz to start his cut....he of course was tracking macros very closely and noticed he was really really struggling to meet his macros, especially protein because of its satiating effects. he lowered dose but still could not meet macros so ended up calling it quits. he is warning other bodybuilders that hey....this drug is great but you need to be very very cognizant about hitting your macros and if you cant, clen/t3 would be a better choice for them.
the only true fat burning drug that doesnt burn muscle is dnp, but some of that is because it also makes you hungry
so you tend to hit macros if you are tracking. Thats what makes it an almost perfect diet drug....except for the whole, 1 day you are burning fat and sweating your arse off, the next you may be dead thing. nothing like a little risk of death to kill the market for a drug
