his performance against Texas alone should put him over Williams

Yes 1 game is greater than years of tape and evaluation by professional scouts.

Nix is the worst of the bunch even lower than Williams. This will all depend on who goes where.

Trade out of #1 for a kings ransom and roll with Fields for 1 more year. If he isn't the answer, youre not stuck for 4 more years with a QB who will lose you as many games as he wins you. He's not Patrick Mahomes, as much as the media wants to say he is. He's Kyler Murray.
I was listening to sports talk driving home yesterday and this is all I heard. When did Williams become Mahomes?
Its like the bears are being forced to make the pick because CW might be Mahomes and your decision is safe either way.
None of these people know who is going to be a good QB. Maybe Andy Reid does or maybe he's been lucky a couple of times

Brees made a living throwing accurate passes over the middle of the field and by knowing what defenses were going to do.

Nix through more bubble screens and gimme passes than any qb in college this years.

It depends on who gets drafted where, but:

Penix Jr.- I think he'll fall to a team where he can comfortably develop and turn into a damn good QB1.

Maye- sneaky good. Had a tough break this past season. But, is the most prototypical NFL QB in this class.

Daniels- took 5 years to come out of his shell, and even then there are some big question marks. How much of it was him? And how much of it was his receiving talent? Someone bad is going to start him way too early, which is why I have him here.

JJ- Project...needs refinement, but can a good game manager for a Shanahan or Roman type offense: great run game with PA passing. Definitely won't take over a game and make stuff happen.

Bo- Project...needs a lot of refinement, and I mean a lot

Williams- Project...needs to grow up mentally. Has the physical tools, but the NFL is harsher than CFB. It will crush your soul if you're not ready for it. I think the league breaks him. Plus being a product of the Air Raid and never playing on schedule lends its own set of problems.

It’s not blind luck like a lottery. It’s a combo of the QBs innate talent, work ethic and the coaching/offense around him.

Andy Reid was making the playoffs with Alex Smith. Smith is a great example of coaching being a problem, they went thru several OCs his first 6-7 years in SF, then Harbaugh is hired and they make the NFCCG. He had his best seasons statistically in KC. However his talent was limited. Mahomes has off the charts physical talent. Size, arm strength can move in the pocket and he works hard. That combo with an elite coach is how you get a dynasty.

that’s just not true. He had an incredible freshman season and then had to deal with Covid and maybe the most toxic locker room in all of college football with Herm leading the way. Excelled in multiple systems.

Maye fell off with the departure of Longo. And he makes some truly stupid decisions with the ball.

And I think Caleb is going to make for a great case study of NIL. Guy apparently has already made 10 mil and was living that penthouse life in L.A.

I doubt it gets better than that for him

Sounds like Matt Leinart without a title.

And Leinart was heavily criticized once in the league for having no drive IIRC.

I'll go against the grain in this thread and say I personally predict Williams will be a HOF player. The biggest limiter of his ceiling will be the dumpster fire Chicago franchise.

Nix will be out the league in four years or at the most a practice squad guy.

Obviously this will depend a ton on team and coaches these guys are drafted to, but just taking a stab

Best - Daniels is best set for success. He’s dynamic athlete and is a better passer version of Lamar, he also seems to be a great leader.

Worst - Nix is a fraud that benefitted from Oregon’s system. Never been impressed, though he may get some starts, but he’ll go the way of all their other QBs

Among the others, I think Penix will have a shot to be a solid NFL starter.

Nix will have the best job in the NFL.
