Last time I was in BR, I decided to bring home some frozen tails and noticed they were marked either wild, farmed, or mixed.

I know enough to make sure they are Louisiana based and not imported, but what are thoughts here on the wild vs farmed options?

Pond versus basin…I never ask where they’re from when buying a sack.

There are a few people who go out in the basin to catch crawfish, but the vast majority of crawfish are farmed.

I'm not sure if you can count on finding frozen crawfish that are wild.

I will take either/or/any combination, as long as it’s from Loozy Anna.

<--- I only actually buy from two places I know don't do farms.

I have no real justification for this other than from when I was in diapers as a little one until age eight or so, I rode in the boat with my grandfather while he crawfished.

The smell of shads still kind of makes me smile
