I've been here! Gate 1 on the boarding pass! One gate!

LaTrobe, PA is like that with a single gate. It would be the tits if it still had mainline service to....anywhere really.

They used to have Delta flights to Detroit, now I think it's just Spirit links to some weird Spirit places. The rest of the airline traffic in that area goes out of PIT.

Lafayette is a nice place to fly out of nowadays. 2-3 minutes from the front door to the gate. The CRJs United flies out of there suck but the facility itself is great.

I like that they configured the new LFT terminal similar to BTR. Looks very nice and well lit. Definitely a huge upgrade.

I was kind of surprised that SHV has fewer passengers than BTR. I know that BTR is in a metro area more than twice the size of SHV, but BTR is also close enough to MSY to lose a lot of passengers to that airport. SHV sees about 600,000 passengers per year and BTR sees 800,000+ per year despite SHV having Allegiant service.

Not suggesting anything good about Allegiant service but that probably does help draw more passengers to the airport during vacation season. I'm sure their seasonal service to Orlando alone is a huge draw for SHV.

I love BTR airport, but they desperately need to add another jetway to B concourse They are out of gates with jetways at the moment, so at least one of the American flights has to use B5 during rush hour, which is ground level or one of the Delta gates in A concourse. It kind of sucks if it's raining. The airport does have a door plug for a new jetway that they can add at the end of B right now (I guess it would be B3 or B6). If they did that, every flight would have a jetway even at rush hour. The spot I'm referring to would have to extend the jetway hard left out of the terminal to avoid hitting whatever jet that's parked at B2. But I've seen more awkward configurations at countless airports.

I know the Baton Rouge people like to talk about getting Southwest service, but that's not going to happen without at least 3-4 new gates added to the far end of either A or B. That's a major expansion. I'm sure the airport would happily add that if Southwest committed to new flights, but that airline typically doesn't come into a new airport with just one or two nonstops. They are going to probably add 3-4 minimum, which would draw in a lot more passengers. The parking deck would probably have to be expanded to if that happened.

The Baton Rouge airport really is pretty close to that terminals capacity on weekday mornings between 7-9AM.

I don't think any additional nonstops could be added without more gates, and I don't think they could make more than 1-2 more gates happen without a pretty big investment into the terminal. That new DC service finally seems to have caught on, but it's going to be challenging getting ORD or LGA nonstops now without more gates unless they time those flights at weird hours.

Your alternative airport to Heber City is SLC, less than one hour’s drive away.

There is one closer than that in Provo, but no one is going to either of those to avoid bad service at HCR.

Also BTR is probably the simplest airport to fly out of in LA. And I can also get a whiskey drink unlike that dump in Shreveport

BTR may have a better place to drink, but I know Shreveport's airport has a bar. they probably just hide it in some rarely used corner of the terminal.

Worst medium- Memphis

Their renovation/right sizing is very nice. Pittsburgh is doing something similar.

It's sad what happened to MEM. Used to be a super busy hub with restaurants everywhere. Then Delta merged with Northwest and killed the MEM hub. Now it's just a FedEx airport that also has some passenger service.

Is the Sky Lounge still in MEM? Used to be able to pour your own drinks in there.

Miami and Charlotte are the worst major ones I've been to. Miami was a really confusing airport to get around as I recall. Florence SC just offers a puddle jumper to Charlotte last I flew out of there. Worst small.

Columbia and Charleston are decent to good. Columbia doesn't have food options but good direct flights and easy interstate access to anywhere if it's not rush hour. Charleston is cool with very little traffic.

Don't remember too much about Vegas Phoenix or Kansas City ( one time each) LGA/JFK/Atlanta are ok

Best international so far is Toronto so far imo.

Yikes - I thought Billings Montana having rental cars outside was bad. Sounds like ND is worse.

The old Monroe airport was awesome. The grill was topnotch and the airport lounge had terrible long island ice teas. Only had three gates with only one jet arm.

The New one, not so much...

the old Lafayette airport restaurant used to be so good that when I lived there I'd go there for lunch, bunch of old black/cajun women in there cooking up soul and cajun food, it was dirt cheap and awesome

Did that for 13yrs on and off from SHV, alot of good people worked at the AA counter, Brian,Mrs Vicki, Mac etc...AA ran them all off and the replacements left a lot to be desired...
BTR ie consistently bad 4 weeks running delayed leaving and coming in due to alot of counter people that don't know their jobs and substandard equipment

because they were full time American Airlines employees that had higher pay(relative term,) and full benefits, replaced with employees at indentured servitude type pay and little to no benefits

Agreed.

I was up there last week and some friends came in on the last passenger (AA) flight of the day from DFW. They landed and sat on the tarmac in the plane from before midnight until after 1:30 am because the gates were blocked with overnighting planes or the other gates were non-functional.

Seems like they really overbuilt that baggage claim area.
