Endless shrimp ended them.

Americans can eat up some free shrimp.

Red Lobster has been terrible and overpriced for at least 20 or more years. There's no Joe influence here; I'm shocked they've remained open still.

A friend of mine broke up with a girl when he found out she had worked at Red Lobster.

That's all I got.

Didn't Darden dump 25% of this boondoggle in 2016 and the rest in 2020? It's been on life support for a decade now type sudden.

Modern America is oversaturated with restaurants and fast food. Inflation plus inflated wages of fast food workers is going to reduce those numbers to something more reasonable.

I haven’t eaten at a Red Lobster since I was 10. I remember vividly, it was game 5 of the 1985 World Series. The Cardinals were going to win the series…until they didn’t. They were up 3 games to 1 going into that night. Then it all turned to shite, much like the meal after the biscuits were all gone.

Hey OP, when was the last time you stepped foot in a Red Lobster?

That’s why it’s fricking closing

The Red Lobster closest to me smells stale when you walk in and everything feels sticky. I think eating in my workshop is cleaner.

Red Lobster's cash flows have been hit by expensive leases

One of the early things Golden Gate Capital did when it bought Red Lobster from Darden was separate out the real estate owned by RL into a separate entity and then sold it off. The leases set up with new owners were probably better initially as part of purchase or had to redone in past couple of years without having as much leverage.
