LSU has become a legit contender for both former Louisville, Tennessee transfers EDGE Tyler Baron and DB Wesley Walker, according to On3's @PeteNakos_ ??

Tyler Baron was listed at 6'5" 260 on Tennessee's roster. Wonder if we need more depth at edge because we are moving Shand, Jones, and/or others inside.

Edit: Imagine landing Suggs, Lane, Baron, and Walker... Would be some nice pieces out of the portal this late in the game.

UPDATE: Walker commit to Michigan. They also picked up Aamir Hall yesterday. Others have said it’s possible that Baron may have signed something at Ole Miss and can’t transfer within the SEC.

This would be an insane way to fill the defense out
Baron has been extremely effective in the SEC and Walker is a multi year starter
Pair those with Suggs and Lane and you've salvaged this window imo.

If we are taking Baron because we are moving those guys inside then we are in serious trouble. Obviously the coaches even this week thought those guys weren’t interior quality. I’m hoping we land Suggs.

A poster or two said we are not Great at DE. Just okay. So a former five star DE may fit.

I thought Baron was going to Ole Miss at one time? Regardless I'm glad he's not. They got enough D-line talent in the portal. He and Nolan could be scary.

Shand is listed as 6'5" 275 pounds. I'd be nervous about him getting blow into the linebackers because he cant get underneath the guard

2 good SEC starters. Would be big to land both of these guys. They’ll both start and be solid players for us. Would still need a couple DTs but would be a big step to infusing the defense with more proven talent

Baron is better than anything we have on the front 7 (excluding Perk). I'm not sure what Blake Baker has in mind as for as scheme but Baron is a the type of player you have to gameplan for... he kinda reminds me of the kid from UCLA that just went in the first round.

No offense to op but the term "pop" is annoying as hell to me for some reason.

The lack of excitement buzz about us potentially landing these 2 is crazy to me. Would be great additions this late in the game. Baron would be our best portal get this cycle.

The addition of these 2 would allow blake baker to be multiple on defense with the addition of Paz and Suggs. Lsu does not have to have a shut everything down defense. They just need to stop the run and get to the qb on 3rd down and get off the field. This would be a good move imo
