Are you seriously trying to tell us that the New Orleans public schools are better than the private schools?

Can you compare your experience with local Catholic schools and New Orleans public schools? I’d like to hear what your experiences were like.

You don’t and never will because we live thousands of miles apart. You can rest easy.

Where do I live?

Not that it really matters. There are people in every state just like you.

Correct, Louisiana private schools are held to a much higher standard than public schools.

“you either have to raise that much money in taxes, and I don't think any politician wants to raise taxes, or you have to cut it from somewhere else in the budget,” like public schools.

Where's the down side?

What is your problem with private schools using public school funds? My taxes pay for this. I pay for my kids private school and your kids public schools. Why should my taxes not benefit my family but only yours?

Of course she wouldn't. She a blinded "muh public schools are the only schools" psychopath. She'd rather her kids have a shitty life and education than have her silly little political biases be proven wrong.

This is the same person who pissed and moaned when "free school lunches over the summer" was proposed to be cancelled. When asked, if these poor people are already receiving food stamps, why do they need a redundant food program like this, she completely ran away from it because she knew she lost the debate. And rather than learning something and saying, "you know you're right", she just ignored that inconvenient fact and continued as if it was never stated. She's the typical dishonest person who avoids the consequences of her own actions, regressive.

If you are ok with low income people being allowed to use assistance money at a Walmart, why are you not ok with low income people being allowed to use assistance money at a private school?

This question wasn't directed at me, but I'll take a bite.

Not all private schools will accept money in the form of vouchers from low income people seeking to transfer their children to the private school of their choice. Private schools exist because people who are wealthier or have the means don't want their children near low-income children.

Normally, vouchers act as a way to funnel money to, at best, C, D, or F private Christian schools. In Baton Rouge, I can guarantee that Dunham, Episcopal, Parkview Baptist, U High, or Catholic are not accepting vouchers.

My kids are grown. Using your logic, I should not have to pay school taxes.
Or adults without kids. Etc.

Remember, your school taxes aren't just for your child's education. They also contribute to other kids' education, which is beneficial for the community as a whole. This might indirectly benefit you and your family too.

Same with roads. I have to pay taxes on roads I don't use. That's because it builds a network that is good for the community as a whole.

But you are right. She says she’s been a teacher in the past. Probably tried to convince boys that they were actually girls

What a stupid comment.

Private schools exist because public schools fail. People aren't avoiding East Baton Rouge Parish public schools to avoid the poors. They are doing it because they actually value education and don't want their kids ending up in this consistently failing school system.

What an idiotic comment.
