I don't really have a issue with this.

The parents of these kids are tax payers. If a parent decides to home school or put their kid in private school they should be able to access the funds and amount that would go to cover their kid if they were attending a public school, no more no less. They are taxpayers also and it is only fair they should be able to access these funds.

This should apply to everyone.

How do you think this works?

I don’t receive an itemized receipt showing exactly where each of my tax dollars goes but maybe I’m an anomaly.

No, I'm flat out stating that your assumption was incorrect, as usual.

Should people without school aged kids also be able to access these funds?

She has no idea how it works. That's the problem with people like this making decisions about what should be spent and where.

You could’ve just said: “You’re right…I DON’T know how this works.”

Or…

You’re just being intentionally obtuse. That would probably be giving you more credit than you deserve.

So you live within 2,000 miles of New Orleans. I’m so glad you spent pages of this thread clearing that up.

We don’t know where our tax dollars go. We have ideas of where they could go but no one knows exactly where his or her tax dollars end up. Why can’t you admit that?

If you have never had children in the public school system and you reach the age of 50. Why shouldn't these people be eligible for a refund on money they paid in that they never used?

Do you feel the same way about car insurance? If someone never gets in an accident, should they be legally entitled to a refund of their premiums?

Should people be refunded for municipal taxes if they never use a library or call the fire dept? Where do you draw the line?

These are NOT public funds! They are OUR dollars that the State took away as taxes. Mur-ca!

I stand corrected then, and I agree with the statement here.

And I thank you for your service.
