yourself, it is very easy and for what you would pay someone to do over a year you could buy all equipment and chemicals for well over 10 years, takes 20 minutes every few months

I used a company called HAWX. I had to negotiate down to $40 a month. They would come out every quarter. They would send me an email with all of the chemicals they’d use and the dilution rates, etc. and I noticed they were spending like less than $2 each quarterly treatment. So $480 paid to them for a year while they spent $8 in chemicals. As soon as I got out of my contract I bought all of the stuff myself and use their same treatment style.

Advantage. One of the few locally owned outfits in Baton Rouge. Even Arrow got bought out relatively recently.

Thanks for this post. I have Terminix and am going to do the same thing, would rather just buy the stuff myself and treat. Didn't realize it was readily available, found all three products they use on Amazon.

When comparing termite contracts be sure and find out the percentage of cost that is insurance against termite damage repair versus for treatment and inspections. No-insurance contracts will be cheaper.

You can definitely DIY but you'll need to figure in possible repair costs if your treatment fails.

Also, get a good independent inspection before your existing contract expires. Your existing contractor needs to cover any needed repair.
