Well in my case it was just close to it. Tire shops want nothing to do with repairing them even close to it.

I would be getting that tire replaced soon as possible.

Same thing happened to my wife. One nail, close to the sidewall and they wouldn't touch it. She got quoted $800 for a new set from the "legit" place.

I took her car to the hood and had it plugged for $10.

Still good over a year later.
