Yes it’s possible, the problem is no one has the balls to make the courses like this because they’re scared of the backlash from the players and the tour

There’s no real rough at #2. The greens and fairways will be lightning fast if the conditions are right, depends on weather but like Augusta the only defense is the greens and surrounds

The old days back in 2018

Players hit too well out of the natural areas at Pinehurst. It's not really that much of an issue for them.

I just read up on Pinehurst #2 a bit.
It looks pretty tough.

Bermuda greens will be lightning fast.
They are expecting it to roll at 13+

The fairways give way to natural sand dunes and well, here's a pic:

Played #2 recently.

I have a hard time seeing them struggling with it but past scores have not been low at all. Quite the opposite.

If you miss the fairway you’ll have to hope for some luck, as there are little bushes everywhere. I play poorly at #2 and never once had an issue getting to the back of the ball or finding a good line to the green. It wasn’t too punitive.

The greens are amazing and very tough. Best putting performance I’ve ever had. We played #5 the day before and they explained they’d just put in new greens and they were hilariously fast. They indeed were, so #2 was a walk in the park comparatively.

I can’t wait to see how the pros do.
