Weren’t there evacuation orders in places that won’t be affected?

I don’t understand how you can ignore a mandatory evacuation order knowing how powerful this storm is.

Don’t you think the same about eating Tide pods, choking yourself until your unconscious, getting out of a moving car to have the driver video you while you walk beside the vehicle.....answer...there are a lot of idiots out there

Great news!

For the layman what caused it to lose form and weaken? I’d unknowingly think a Cat 4 over warm water would do nothing but keep or gain strength?

Freaking Isaac- Euro 10 days out. Unfortunately Euro has been spot on this season

It hasn’t been spot on 10 days out
It still has to survive the next couple of days and see how Florence effects it
Plus at the end of that run there’s a cool front coming down so that will effect it also

Looks like the Carolinas will be spared. Only a Cat 2 and they said it could be a Cat 1 by landfall. Thats a huge downgrade.

As for Isaac, that sucks for my Lake Charles peeps. McNeese hosting a big game Sat night

Isaac's convection is trying to hold onto the low level center for dear life.

You do realize that there is going to be catastrophic flooding and damage, right? Spared...wouldn't say that at all. Only a Cat 2? Jesus.....Huge downgrade, maybe a somewhat downgrade of top end sustained winds, but the wind reaches further out and the thing is a monster that will literally take up 2 entire States...

They'll be spared from extreme winds that are actually the least damaging/life threatening parts of a hurricane. Don't get me wrong, weaker winds are better than stronger ones, but the Carolinas are not going to be spared from widespread effects. Flooding and surge will still be a major issue.

Yeah the rainfall this thing is going to bring is no joke.

And it's still a Cat 2 hurricane.

The way the rain totals are looking currently, SC is going to get fricked...hard. All that rain in western NC drains down through SC, which will already be flooded from our own rain.

Florence looks like it’s trying to become more organized based off of the radar but I’m guessing there is zero chance for strengthening?

I wouldn't say zero, but it is running out of time if it wants to strengthen.

This is the Frying Pan, 30 miles off the coast of NC

What will we be saying Saturday:

1) And the flag was still there....

OR

2) Bye Bye Old Glory, RIP

unfortunately, I don't think its going to make it. Thing is already getting tore up and the rain band hasn't even reached it yet
