You don't even need to check the computers. Brickseek is accurate now for Home Depot items. The only thing it doesn't provide is price if the item is clearance.

Y’all got the serial numbers for brick seek for the items that we should track the most? (Mainly Nest and Hue Color bulbs)

Been following this thread and got a 4 pack from home depot. Just saw this on best buy. Looks to be a great deal. Am I missing something?

I have been looking at the bulbs on ebay. It seems like the starter packs end up cheaper than buying individual bulbs, am I just missing something or is this common?

Nah, that's a pretty damned good deal. If I were looking for more bulbs, I'd be jumping all over that because, hey, free switch.

That bundle should probably be closer to $200 at regular price. Buying all of those separately at regular price, you can figure $50 for each bulb, $25 for the switch and $60 for the bridge.

I just popped over to Philips' site and I can't find a 3 bulb color ambiance starter kit. I wonder if Philips discontinued the 3 bulb color starter and you stumbled on a discontinued SKU that Best Buy has on clearance (with a switch added) that is identical hardware (minus one bulb) to the 4 bulb starter they're selling down the aisle for $200.

Either way, as long as it's all Gen 3 bulbs and Gen 2 bridge (and there shouldn't be anyway it isn't), that looks like a great deal.

ETA: Replied to the wrong person, but the question above is the one I meant to reply to.

3 bulb starter kits were discontinued about 9 months ago. Only 4 bulb kits are current.

So does this still mean that they are the latest bulb with the latest equipment? How do I tell? I ordered one box and will pick it up today at best buy.

Yes, that is latest...or 2nd latest. I actually prefer the gen 3,not gen3.1. The newest gen3 are plastic instead of glass, but I think the 3 pack with switch is relatively new.

Anyone in Lafayette. Person listed a 4 pack starter on Facebook marketplace for $125. Not sure if new or not

It's all about the base and lettering. Link in case the picture goes away

There is no gen 4 bulb, no matter what someone may tell you. If the diffuser at the top of the bulb is glass, it's gen 3. If the diffuser is plastic, it's gen 3.1. In 3.1, they went with lighter and cheaper packaging materials. I think the 3.1 bulbs have a 15,000 hour minimum life versus 25,000 on the 3, as well. However, the electronics and the scheme by which the bulbs create colors should be identical between gen 3 and 3.1. I have both gen 3 and 3.1 bulbs. I can't tell the difference between them visually.

There is no gen 3 bridge. Philips has not found it necessary to update the bridge hardware as much as the bulb hardware.
Link again, in case the pic goes away.

Picked up a 3 bulb/hub starter kit and an extra bulb today at BB. That was cheaper than the 4 bulb starter pack at $199.

Anxious to get it hooked up and start experimenting

Just picked up a Hue motion sensor on Amazon for $29. Seems like the original pricing is $39.

Want one for the hallway.

Love mine. You can set it to do different things day and night. Stumbling into the bathroom in the middle of the night and not having to fumble for a lightswitch or worry about get blasted with bright light because the lights come on in nightlight mode after 10 pm is nice.

Hue Labs has even more things you can do with the sensors that aren't baked directly into the switch. For instance, it comes with a day mode and a night mode, but Hue Labs can:

-give a sensor a third time based mode
-make it so that in a large room with 2 sensors it only takes one detecting motion to turn lights on but both have to sense no motion to turn lights off
-turn the sensor off with a voice command
-make the sensor revert the lights upon no motion to the last state they were in before the sensor picked up motion

With Hue, if you're not checking out the Hue Labs, you're missing out on some neat abilities.

Update: after writing the physical letter to Walmart, they have emailed me back and said they are going to give me a full refund and let me keep the 8 4-packs of white lights. I guess I could sell them and the bridges now? I wanted the damn color ones.

Nice, I just got my refund for my 7. Selling those should net you enough for a few packs of the 3 bulb kits from best buy if they are still available.

Any suggestions as to where to sell these things? I hate the hassle.
