SFMR with unflagged readings near 90 its (103 mph)

flight level readings putting up some pink wind barbs which starts at 96 kts (110 mph)

Recent data from an Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft
indicate that Zeta's maximum winds have increased to 105 mph (165
km), with higher gusts, and the central pressure has fallen to 973
mb. It now appears likely that Zeta will maintain category 2
intensity on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale until its
initial landfall in southeast Louisiana later this afternoon.

Sustained tropical storm force winds are now spreading onshore the
southeastern coast of Louisiana. A sustained wind of 45 mph (72
km/h) was recently reported at Caillou Bay, Louisiana.

When people start to doubt... these things always bite us in the arse. NOLA is not prepared for this contrary to what Destroya might say. So many people expected a tropical storm with little rain and now a borderline CAT 3 is pulling up in a few hours.

NHC with a bump to 105 mph. Zeta found the sweet spot in the jet that was favorable for strengthening. Models showed this possibility on and off, this is really threading the needle.

Would have been nice of the local meteorologists weren't downplaying the effects this would have on the Nola Metro area the last few days.
