According to AAA, the avg price of regular has increased by 1 cent the last month and actually decreased by about 2.5 cents the past week. I just got back from a road trip and never paid over $3 a gallon.

So is this more of a crude supply issue or a refining capacity right now? I'm assuming crude supply.

In the U.S, I guess with Shell Convent along with P66 Alliance closing as well is Shell Norco being down for a few months, this isn't helping things.

It’s a little bit of everything.

- more recent demand for clean products (gas, jet, diesel) with loosening COVID
- less local crude supply which hasn’t had a chance to respond back to market. See Permian basin for example
- NG prices are high and energy producers and manufacturers are converting from NG to fuel (driving up fuel prices)
- less refineries due to closures

Where have you "heard" this? You're talking about an increase of over 100% of already inflated prices. When numbers like that are thrown around, perhaps you should do a little more research than "hearing" from some unnamed entity.

Or, you're just trying to stir the pot because you've got nothing better to do.

I’m getting one for Mrs Billjamin after the holidays. She’s wanted one for a while, but it’ll be nice to save on the fuel bill.

the saddest thing is that since 2008 if stupidity hadn't infected America and the world and BS and Lies weren't the norm this planet would be such a better place.

The great thing about electricity is we can generate it from numerous sources. Solar, wind, rivers, tides, geothermal, nuclear, coal, gas, etc. That diversity, should we choose to utilize them when and where appropriate, leads to long term price stability. And that leads to an overall stable economy. That's where EVs are going to take us.
