Has anyone here dined at Brasa Steakhouse in Old Metairie? Attempting to decide on a steakhouse for a birthday dinner (just the wife and I). Choices include Brasa, Desi Vega, and Charlie’s (I’ve been with my dad but the Mrs. hasn’t). Fwiw we’ve dined at the following steakhouses:
Doris
Ruth’s
Fogo
Mr. John’s
Chophouse
Crescent City
Fleming’s

I would consider canal place Brasa too.

Rizzutos Lakeview is good too.

Ate at Desi Vega in January and it was one of the best steaks I've ever had.

It’s fine. But you are eating in a strip mall in Metairie. Who’s birthday is it & how memorable do you want it to be?

Brasa is great but it’s a loud restaurant. I like rizzutos or desis more. Austins is also good but not sure that fits the bill

I’ve been once and I thought my steak was tough as shite. I got it medium rare and it tasted like a cheap rouses choice steak.

Charlie’s is more casual. Desi’s is nicer and has a better steak. I’d go to the downtown one over the Metairie one. That’s just me.

We dine at steakhouse’s sporadically, not every weekend, I promise

Forgot about the downtown location. Having been to Mr. John’s and Desi being involved, is there any true difference in menus? This is for my birthday and it doesn’t need to be a fancy steakhouse.

Just go to Charley's and don't forget to get the onion rings.

I think Chophouse is the best steakhouse in the city. But I like a crust on my steak and they get it done with the 1700° broilers.
