re: Brasa Steakhouse

We dine at steakhouse’s sporadically, not every weekend, I promise  Forgot about the downtown location. Having been to Mr. John’s and Desi being involved, is there any true difference in menus? This is for my birthday and it doesn’t need to be a fancy steakhouse....

Has anyone here dined at Brasa Steakhouse in Old Metairie? Attempting to decide on a steakhouse for a birthday dinner (just the wife and I). Choices include Brasa, Desi Vega, and Charlie’s (I’ve been with my dad but the Mrs. hasn’t). Fwiw we’ve dined at the following steakhouses: Doris Ruth’s Fog...

Was in Cleveland the 1st week of October 2023. Weather was fantastic. One place I wish I would’ve had the opportunity to try was Mabel’s bbq by chef Michael Symon....

Might be a long shot, but anyone ever experience styes developing with the more cardio completed? I’m 33 and have been running for the better part of a decade, but within the past 5 years have increased daily/weekly mileage a great deal. Since November I’ve had 2 areas on my right eye develop a stye...

re: Routine during the week of a race

For my half-marathon I throttled down the week leading up to the race. TBH, that was a mental hurdle because I love running longer distances and didn’t like the 2-3 mile runs (2 times during week leading up). But, it helps to rest your legs and not overdo it come race day. My mindset had to change r...

Love caramelized onions. Literally could be content eating a bowl of them by themselves....
Personally, I enjoyed their cookie cake edition a few years back. Tasted exactly like a Great American cookie cake. They’ve never brought it back....
Ran my first half-marathon yesterday in 1:51 and 8:30 pace. Extremely happy with the result as my goal was to run in 2 hours or less. Congratulations to all the runners!...

Wife and I went a couple weekends ago. We thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the spicy lamb ragu and she had the gulf shrimp paccheri. She also enjoyed the roasted garlic, mushroom, and artichoke soup. We’ll definitely be back....
Glad I’m not alone. Another side note that drives me nuts is whoever is in charge of updating down and distance. It’ll be 2 & 7 from the 31 and AK picks up a gain of 5 to the 36. Scoreboard will read 3 & 4. Like what?...
With the holiday season upon us, and watching Home Alone, the below scene gets me every time for some reason: Mr. Marley: I send her a check. Kevin: I wish my grandparents did that. They always send me clothes. Last year I got a sweater with a big bird knitted on it. Mr. Marley: That’s nice...

Both my and the wife’s parents are early 70’s. Up until this year, all their health was pretty good without anything significant. Still able to remember things and “with it”. Then all of a sudden over the past 3-4 months we’ve noticed in both sets they just forget certain things we’ve spoken about i...
