Wanting to get back into console gaming prior to the NCAA 25 release. Never owned a PS at any point but considering if it's worth it now.

Had an Xbox 360 during the era when I was in high school, looking back that was one of my favorite gaming consoles ever (besides the N64).

Decided to stick with Xbox during the next gen, despite becoming less of an avid gamer during the time. I ended up purchasing the Xbox1 for several years, but after playing a handful of games, I ran out of quality options so it then sat on my shelf and was rarely used.

Now here I am again facing a choice. Which current gen console will serve me better? I will be traveling a lot during the upcoming year so an option to play remotely would be ideal.

Unless there are PS games you really want to play Gamepass is hard to beat.

That's a common problem with xbox

Switch or steamdeck. PS has portable options as well.

Pair a PS5 Pro with a PS Portal. It lets you play your PS games over the internet. Think of the PS5 as a server and it streams the gameplay to the Portal.

Until Xbox comes out with something comparable, that seems like your only option if NCAA doesn’t come to Nintendo.

I love the portability of my switch, I just wish it got better games...The Steam deck was something I came across while browsing. Looks like it is also worth considering. Does anybody have one? I imagine the game library on it would be the best of the three

I have the original Steam Deck. Love it. Got a dock for it aftermarket and it's like having a switch with a much much better library.

PS5 has actual exclusives.

PS5 for the win since you can use PS Portal.

SD is easy for emulation too.

If your criteria is only playing EA College Football 25 then you just need to hold each controller in your hand and go with which one feels better.

Xbox vs PS5 debates are religious in nature.

PS5 is so much better it’s not even funny. I used to be an XBox guy all the way up until I bought one last year and everything is much smoother. Just my opinion though

There are several PS5 games that I want to play which are not available on an x-box. I don’t know of a single x-box exclusive that I really want.

I prefer the XBOX experience (the UI/dashboard etc) but like the PS5 controller better

You can’t really go wrong either way, see what controller feels better to you at Best Buy or something and just go with that one

Off the top of my head here are some of the exclusive games I’d play:

PS5
Ratchet and Clank
Uncharted
Spider-Man
Helldivers 2?
And older games from previous gens

Xbox
Call of Duty
Psychonauts
Starfield
Ryse?
Games from previous gens

The lists are pretty even for me in what I’d play. I’m still deciding

I've never regretted going the Xbox route with Game Pass, but if your main reason is for the upcoming NCAA football game I don't guess it matters which one you go with.

Traded my xbox for beer at a local brewery. That's how good their first party titles are. Xbox and Gamepass are shockingly bad right now to be honest.
