Recruiting is not an issue here …
I don’t know, but the way they set it up for the Williams kid was terrible. I mean, you’re recruiting a black teenager and they got him in a back room with a kitchen staff full of guys holding candles or some shite while a 35 year old country song plays in the background. Oh and somebody holding some cheap looking shite with his name lit up.

It was tacky. We weren’t getting him anyway, but I’m hoping this isn’t the norm of what we do with recruits

Yea, we are going to have to do a better job at some darn point. But if we going to pay big money for a player then I’d prefer that player be someone who is a known dominant type player. Not a depth filler. At the same time, they will have to figure this out. It’s becoming a real problem. Every single quarter that passes by without the players we need, sets us back a half year or more. We need to absolutely unload on DLman in the next 3 recruiting classes and portals to have this fixed by next season. Hopefully we get some type of surprise soon.

The answer is very obviously no. Breaux will never be a contributor in the SEC

The same would have been said about Benny Logan. Three star from coushatta playing against small schools. Still made it to the NFL. Or two star Jacob Hester. Just never know who has it or don't.

If a kid wants it bad enough and works hard, anything is possible.

it appears that the guys on this current roster are going to have to want it.

Had a killer offense last year. Defense killed any chance of SEC title.
Have a good offense this year; have a good defensive staff with better DBacks. If we get mauled up front, and barely miss the playoff, there will be some torches lit.

Problem is if McKinley does live up, will we pay to keep him? How much is too much for us? Our inability to buy Wingo out of the draft is looking more telling. How out of touch/stubborn are we?

If they offered Wingo 500k, then that should be enough to stay.

He played hard but wasn't elite. Had some injuries too.

Let me guess, you have said the same about Harold Perkins each offseason too, huh

Reliford might be the next Michael Brockers. He plays with good leverage and has good lower body strength. For playing in High school last fall he was impressive in the spring game...I know he played d end, but I think they project him at tackle

Breaux responded to a tweet that listed the DT room and their respective height and weight (his was listed as 258). His response: “275**” Obviously still got some work to do there, but that’s encouraging. We’re gonna need some pleasant surprises

How many contributors have left LSU in the portal? Heard this season, although that seemed to be of a playing time issue and the corner that went to Bama are the only 2 I can think of. Keeping players has not been an issue at all. Hell keeping Nuss alone was a hell of an accomplishment

The guy that got so frustrated with Matt House that he was telling teammates he was done with this shite immediately after the bowl game? Definitely was not a money issue there.

Considering Kelly addressed the biggest problems on last years team by completely cleaning house on the defensive side of the ball, I’d say not stubborn at all. Getting a generational talent at qb to commit shows they can spend money with anyone. You can argue they should be open to spending on 1 year mercenaries but that’s a whole different argument.

BK has said many times that a lot of the NIL money is for roster retention. That makes sense to me. Recruit the best players out of high school and pay them as they progress. If Dom Mc can play like we all hope, he will get paid.

Go eat shite ! Who are you to say that about a kid who has committed to play for our beloved Tigers?

Ah, I forgot that this is a board strictly for thin-skinned babies. No evaluation or discussion permitted. Everyone is required to pretend that every player on roster is the greatest ever and none of them will wash out to lower levels, because people like Dubaitiger are too sensitive to hear anyone suggest that a low-end 3* isn't going to be a difference maker as a true freshman (and probably won't ever be).

Seriously, people like this are legitimately embarrassing

We need to get the kid from Kent State in the boat at least. i think Parish Shand ends up being the starting 3atexh next to Guillory inside but we need a couple more guys with playing experience. Losing Wingo really hurt but I’d kill to just have Justin Jefferson back at DT.

So much is about the motor, the desire and the work ethic. CBK hasn't been saying the current folks in place are dogging it; quite the contrary. Trust the excellent coaching will prevail.

fanva, I usually upvote and support your reasonings, but not here. McKinley is already getting paid and I'm sure Reli is as well.

I could run a better play than that shite. But then again the kid wasn’t after the home cooked meal with coaches he wanted to be fluffed.

There are always juniors that are just ready to go. This means nothing.

He’s gonna get 750k if he makes a roster which I’m sure he’s confident he can do.

How embarrassing are people like you and Draco Malfoy ? Expecting your coaching staff to get your team ready for the upcoming season is why you invest the money there that you did. That investment will pay much higher dividends than spending a million bucks on a DT that isnt even a guarantee to beat out anyone on your 2-deep.

You bleeding vaginas who think the only way to improve is to vastly overpay for mediocre players are a problem too. Support your team, and stop being a little bitch. The players we have at DT could seriously surprise everyone, but that is a development that you dipshits cannot even fathom as a possibility.

Guillory, Washington, Paez, these boys will play their asses off, and if one of them ends up getting a large NIL deal will have earned it, unlike these bag chasers who dont give a shite about anything but the money.

I never said we needed to pay a mediocre DT millions of dollars. I did say that our staff had failed miserably at getting transfer DTs AFTER our head coach publicly said we needed them then our staff whiffing on every single one that visited. Now we are targeting D2 level targets which proves that the majority of ones on the roster aren’t SEC caliber. Why else do you think they’re pursuing D2 targets after whiffing on the D1 ones?
